UNDIP Inaugurated 305 Students from the Bidikmisi Program at the 169th Graduation Ceremony

Semarang – Central Java (31/1). Diponegoro University proudly graduated 305 graduates of the Bidikmisi program at the 169th graduation ceremony of Diponegoro University which was held at the Prof. Soedarto, S.H. Building, Undip Tembalang Campus. The graduation ceremony procession is carried out in 12 stages, starting from 30 January – 3 February 2023 and continuing on 6 February 2023.

In his remarks, the Rector of Diponegoro University, Prof. Dr. Yos Johan Utama, S.H., M.Hum. conveyed, “Be proud as the graduates of Diponegoro University, the number 1 (one) campus whose graduates get jobs quickly.” Prof. Yos also advised that success is not only focused on material or social status, but success is on how big our role is to benefit society and make others happy.

The Bidikmisi program is an educational tuition assistance from the government of the Republic of Indonesia which is intended for prospective students who are economically disadvantaged and have good academic potential to study at tertiary institutions in leading study programs to graduate on time.

Being one of the leading tertiary institutions in Indonesia, Undip has committed to support the Bidikmisi program that has been organized by the Government, so that every citizen has the right to education and can increase equity of access to higher education levels.

Bidikmisi’s mission is to revive hope for the poor and have good academic potential to be able to pursue higher education and produce human resources capable of playing a role in breaking the chain of poverty and empowerment.

While the aim is to increase access and learning opportunities in tertiary institutions for students who are economically disadvantaged and have good academic potential; provide tuition assistance to candidates/students who meet the criteria for pursuing Diploma/Bachelor degree programs to completion and on time; improve student achievement, both in curricular, co-curricular and extra-curricular fields; have an impact on other students and prospective students to always improve achievement and be competitive; and produce graduates who are independent, productive and have social awareness, so that they are able to play a role in efforts to break the chain of poverty and make empowerment.

The target of this program is graduates of SMA/SMK/MA/MAK educational units or other equivalent forms who are economically disadvantaged and have good academic potential. (Lin/Nuril – Public Relations)
