Sukoharjo – Central Java (8/2). Community Service (KKN) Team I of Diponegoro University introduced village potential and demonstrated a variety of innovative results in the form of products and services through expo at the Village Innovation Variety Expo (EXPORIA) event held in Toriyo Village, Bendosari District, Sukoharjo Regency on Wednesday, February 8, 2023.
This Expo event is a form of accountability and gratitude for the opportunity and trust that has been given by village and sub-district officials to UNDIP KKN students who have been deployed in the village community for about 7 weeks, with the hope that every program that has started has potential sustainability and can be developed for the empowerment and welfare of village communities.
As a form of appreciation for student work, this activity was attended by the Head of the Community and Village Empowerment Office of Sukoharjo Regency, Rohmadi, S.H., M.Si.; Secretary of the Regional Planning, Development, Research and Innovation Agency for Sukoharjo Regency, Agus Purwantoro, S.E., M.M.; Deputy Dean for Academic and Student Affairs, Faculty of Public Health, Diponegoro University, Dr. Nurjazuli, S.KM., M.Kes.; as well as the ranks of the government of Bendosari and Nguter Districts of Sukoharjo Regency.
The event began with the giving of remarks by the officials. Head of the Community and Village Empowerment Service for Sukoharjo Regency, Rohmadi, S.H., M.Si. in his speech put high hopes on the excellent programs that have been implemented by students. “It is hoped that the flagship program can be carried out optimally so that the goals of sustainable development will continue. Do not let any residents be left behind or community organs that do not participate in development,” he said.
“Hopefully the mandates can be carried out as well as possible, honestly, as sincerely as possible. Our message is especially for KKN students, there are several parts that must be instilled in us, namely harmony, unity, and good cooperation when we are in an organization,” he continued.
While the Head of Bendosari District, Sukoharjo Regency, Firmansyah Maymora, S.STP., M.H., in his remarks thanked UNDIP KKN students for the contribution of useful labor and knowledge that has been poured into innovative programs.
At the end of his remarks, he hoped that the students participating in the UNDIP Community Service program could become responsible generations. “There are many good people in this world. When you can’t find one, be one of them,” his message which can inspire and motivate students.
The event ended with a review of the results of each village’s flagship programs which were exhibited at each booth totaling 25 (twenty five) representing each village from Bendosari District and Nguter District, Sukoharjo Regency by village and sub-district officials, field supervisors, and community service students who also enlivened it. The innovative works on display varied widely, ranging from hydroponic technology, ecobrick, aquaponics, stunting prevention snacks, hydroponic growing media, to the utilization of waste and/or natural materials in the manufacture of soap, fertilizer and mosquito repellent.
