In order to support the internationalization of the Diponegoro University campus, this year the Faculty of Public Health, Diponegoro University (FKM Undip) is again holding the 2nd Summer Course activities offline from November 21, 2022 to December 3, 2022. With the theme “Community Participation in Public Health”, the 2nd Summer Course was attended by 5 participants from the Faculty of Health and Queensland University of Technology (QUT), Australia. This Summer Course program is also a form of international cooperation program between FKM Undip and QUT.
On the first day, the event began with the Opening Ceremony which was attended by Undip FKM Leaders, Head of the Undip International Affairs Office (KUI), Participants, Committees, and the FKM Undip Academic Community. Located in the Budioro Brotosaputro Hall, FKM Undip Campus, the Opening event for the FKM Undip – QUT Summer Course was lively.
Head of Undip International Affairs Office, Anggun Puspitarini Siswanto, Ph.D. said that the Internationalization Program such as the Summer Course is very beneficial in supporting the Tri Dharma of Higher Education. In addition, she also said that it is hoped that this activity will also become an embryo for the establishment of other international cooperation in the future.
The FKM Undip – QUT Summer Course activity was opened directly by the Dean of FKM Undip. In his remarks, the Dean of FKM Undip, Dr. Budiyono, SKM, M.Kes warmly welcomed the presence of participants from QUT students to be able to take part in the Summer Course which will be held for 13 days, to be exact from November 21, 2022 to December 3, 2022. He also hopes that this activity will be a starting point for other forms of cooperation in the Academic and non-Academic Fields, especially in increasing the Internationalization of the Diponegoro University Campus.
In this Summer Course activity, participants will not only take part in in-class learning, but will also carry out various field activities related to Community Participation in Public Health, such as visiting the Tlogosari Kulon Health Center, Posyandu, participating in Mosquito Nest Eradication activities, visiting the Garbage Bank, Youth Posyandu in groups of street children, and so on.
In addition to activities related to Public Health, participants were also invited to learn local culture, for example participating in batik training, visiting the Cultural Arts Association and the Sobokartti Cultural Heritage Building, learning the process of making traditional herbal medicine, and so on.
