Faculty of Psychology UNDIP Strengthens Collaboration with Two Universities in Australia

The Faculty of Psychology, Diponegoro University (Undip) has been working with Griffith University Australia for the last 10 years. This collaboration includes various activities, such as joint research, joint publications as well as visiting professors, with various funding sources. For example, the 2017 World Class Professor and the 2022 Adjunct Professor activities are funded by Undip’s World Class University (WCU). Research collaborations and scientific publications in 2018 were funded by the International Publication Research of LPPM Undip, in 2019 by the Directorate of Research and Community Service of the Ministry of Research and Technology, in 2021 funded by the Indonesian Collaborative Research Program (PPKI) of the Ministry of Education and Culture, and 2023 by the International Publication Research of LPPM Undip. The 2018 World Class Professor was funded by the Ministry of Research and Technology and in 2022 was funded by the Ministry of Education and Culture. From these various collaboration schemes, various Scopus indexed international journal articles have been produced in the area of career development. Apart from that, various activities have also been carried out, both at Diponegoro University and Griffith University, such as guest lecturer lectures, workshops, and peer mentoring.

The series of collaborations that have been established continued with the invitation to Prof. Dian Ratna Sawitri as adjunct professor at Griffith University for the 2022–2025 period. To fulfill her role, Prof. Dian Ratna Sawitri visited Australia from 17 to 23 April 2023. Her arrival at the School of Applied Psychology, Griffith University, was received by the Head of School, Prof. David Neumann and Dean of Learning & Teaching (Griffith Health), Prof. Michelle Hood. Prof. David Neumann and Prof. Michelle Hood said that it was hoped that the collaboration that had existed between the School of Applied Psychology and the Faculty of Psychology Undip would continue, and the number of collaboration areas that could be carried out could increase. This was welcomed by Prof. Dian Ratna Sawitri, who stated that increasing networks can expand the area of collaboration, so that the sustainability of cooperation is maintained. For example, in the 4th International Conference on Psychological Studies (IC-PSYCHE) 2023, the Faculty of Psychology Undip involved Prof. Melanie Zimmer-Gembeck as one of the keynote speakers.

During her visit to Griffith University, Prof. Dian Ratna Sawitri specifically fine-tuning international scientific publications with Prof. Peter Creed, Prof. Michelle Hood, and research meetings with several PhD students working in the career development area.

The visitation of Prof. Dian Ratna Sawitri to Griffith University followed by the initiation of collaboration with James Cook University. The arrival of the Dean of the Faculty of Psychology Undip at Douglass Campus, Townsville, was received by the Head of Professional Program, Graduate Certificate in Career Development, Dr. Natalia Veles. The collaboration initiation was attended by Dr. Natalia Veles, Dr. Sujin Kim, Dr. Ben Archer, and Dr. Elizabeth Knight to formulate areas of potential collaboration and finalize the Implementation of Agreement.

In the future, it is hoped that the Faculty of Psychology Undip will continue to expand its network to other universities in Australia in order to strengthen its international network in supporting Undip to become a world class university.
