Pemalang – Diponegoro University Thematic Community Service (KKN-T) students made a real contribution to Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Beji Sub-District by organizing a mentoring program and assistance with halal certification registration. The socialization activity at the Beji Sub-District office on Friday, July 20, 2023, provided understanding and convenience for MSME owners in the halal certification registration.
This activity, which KKN-T Undip students initiated, invited speakers from the Ministry of Religion who are competent in halal certification issues. The speakers explained the registration process and the importance of obtaining halal certification for MSME products. In this activity, a direct example of filling out and registering for halal certification was also demonstrated.
“I am very proud of the initiative of Diponegoro University KKN students in empowering MSMEs in Beji. “This mentoring program and assistance in registering for halal certification is a real example of implementing student knowledge for the benefit of society,” said KKN Supervisor Ir. R. TD Wisnu Broto, M.T.
Beji Village Head, Wijonarto, S.IP, welcomed this socialization activity. He stated, “Thank you to the KKN-T students who have contributed to the Beji community, especially to MSMEs. With assistance in registering for halal certification, it is hoped that the quality of MSME products can be improved.”
One of the MSME business owners in Beji Village, Agus, expressed joy with this mentoring program. “As a banana sales business owner, halal certification is crucial to gain consumer trust. With the help of Diponegoro University Community Service students, I know more about the benefits and registration procedures for halal certification. Thank you very much!” he said.
This mentoring and assistance program for halal certification registration provides significant benefits for MSMEs in Beji Village. It is hoped that positive activities like this can continue to be participated in by universities and other related agencies to participate in improving the welfare and competitiveness of MSMEs in Indonesia.
