The Annual Press Statement of the Minister of Foreign Affairs (PPTM) is a form of accountability and transparency in the work of the Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs every year. PPTM is an essential momentum at the beginning of every year, where the Minister of Foreign Affairs will deliver a speech on Indonesia’s diplomatic achievements for the year and what Indonesia’s foreign policy priorities will be for the following year. This year, the PPTM was held on January 8, 2024, at Gedung Merdeka, Bandung.
In order to be part of PPTM 2024, the 2024 Annual Press Statement of the Minister of Foreign Affairs (PPTM) and the Talkshow “Conversation on Politics with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs” were held as a form of collaboration between the Faculty of Law, Diponegoro University and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia. This event was held on Monday (8/01) in the Fiat Justicia room, Faculty of Law UNDIP, which was opened with remarks from the Deputy Dean for Academic and Student Affairs, Faculty of Law Undip, Dr. Tri Laksmi Indreswari, S.H., M.H.
The Screening and Talkshow event was attended not only by the UNDIP academic community but also by other universities in Semarang, namely Universitas Negeri Semarang, Universitas Wahid Hasyim, Universitas Semarang, Universitas Terbuka, Universitas STIKUBANK, Universitas PGRI, and UNIKA Soegijapranata.
The event began with the Screening of PPTM 2024 by the Indonesian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Retno L. P. Marsudi, which was then continued with the “Bincang Polugri” Talkshow event, which presented Dr. Yayan G. H. Mulyana as Head of the Foreign Policy Strategy Agency of the Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs as resource person. Prof. Dr. Kholis Roisah, S.H., M.Hum. as an International Law Expert at Diponegoro University, was present as a responder. Spica A. Tutuhatunewa, the Head of the Center for SKK (Regional Policy Strategy) for America and Europe, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia, acted as moderator.
The “Bincang Polugri” Talkshow event has provided insight into the challenges faced by Indonesia as part of a country in the world and how this applies in the context of international law. This event was carried out smoothly and was attended enthusiastically by the participants.
This form of collaboration between the Faculty of Law UNDIP and the Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs will become closer and increase cooperation in other collaborative activities in the future.
“Of course, we hope that the collaborative synergy between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia and the Faculty of Law, Diponegoro University, will become closer and can further increase collaborative activities,” concluded the Deputy Dean for Academic and Student Affairs of the Faculty of Law Undip.
