In order to achieve the University’s Vision of becoming a World-Class University, UNDIP supports faculty, students, and staff in attending various activities organized by partner universities abroad. This initiative also aims to enhance global competitiveness and international exposure, which are critical foundations for achieving the University’s Vision. Just recently, on Tuesday, May 28, 2024, a UNDIP delegation returned to the country after attending an invitation from HSE University St. Petersburg, Russia, for a 3-day event.
The delegates included Anggun Puspitarini Siswanto, ST, Ph.D., and Winda Febiana Puspitaningrum, S.Hum., along with student representatives from the Vocational School, Rara Tyas Ghaniiyya and Izza Ghassani, as well as student representatives from the Faculty of Economics and Business, Muhammad Bintang Erlangga and Syabila Andina Alifia.
The event, organized as part of HSE International Partners’ Week, was attended by representatives from around 15 countries, including university leaders, faculty, students, and representatives from International Affairs Offices. The communication between UNDIP and HSE University St. Petersburg began during the Education Expo in Istanbul in February 2024, where heads of International Affairs Offices from around the world gathered. This communication led to an invitation for Anggun Puspitarini Siswanto, ST, Ph.D., to deliver a guest lecture at HSE University St. Petersburg.
The opportunity to bring along students and International Affairs Office staff also served as a basis for institutional and individual collaborations. Various joint activities can be organized between institutions, such as International Joint Programs, Summer Schools, and Visiting Lecturers. “Your network is your net worth,” added Anggun.
The departure of the delegation to HSE University St. Petersburg received full support from the Rector of Diponegoro University, Prof. Dr. Suharnomo, S.E., M.Si. “To become a great university, we must also provide abundant opportunities for our students to gain international exposure. International activities are gateways for students to see the world. Meeting colleagues from abroad will broaden their horizons and open up greater opportunities, such as Double Degree, Joint Degree, Student Mobility, and Exchange Programs. Moreover, through these activities, students’ opportunities for further studies are also greatly expanded,” stated Prof. Dr. Suharnomo, S.E., M.Si.
