As a form of concern for workplace safety, the Faculty of Public Health at Diponegoro University (FKM UNDIP), in collaboration with Diponegoro University’s Occupational Health and Safety Unit (UPT K3L UNDIP), held a work safety training at height at the Faculty of Public Health UNDIP on Tuesday (21/5). This activity is part of the occupational safety course in the undergraduate program at FKM UNDIP, with a focus on Occupational Health and Safety (OHS).
Professor Hanifa Maher Denny, S.KM., MPH., Ph.D., who also serves as the Director of Academics, Student Affairs, and Alumni at UNDIP, and Bina Kurniawan, S.KM, M.Kes, the Head of UPT K3L UNDIP, directly supervised the training.
“The involvement of alumni in this activity is extraordinary. They took the initiative without being asked, arranging their schedules to provide material related to OHS in the field,” said Professor Hanifa.
On the same occasion, FKM UNDIP collaborated with its alumnus Setyadi Kristyana to conduct the training. Setyadi, a 2010 FKM UNDIP alumnus, currently works at KStrong Asia Singapore.
“With this material, it is hoped that the students will be able to understand it well so that they will not be surprised in the workplace and can implement it,” said Setyadi Kristyana.
During the training, students were asked to take turns practicing victim evacuation processes and using other safety equipment. This activity represents practical learning focused on skills in Occupational Health and Safety.
It is our hope and belief that this activity aligns perfectly with the OHS vision and mission, which is UNDIP Zero Accident. This mission ensures no workplace accidents occur during activities at Diponegoro University, reflecting our unwavering commitment to safety. (Joshua ed. Ut-Public Relations)
