UNDIP Holds Pancasila Sanctity Day Commemoration Ceremony

The entire academic community, including lecturers and educational staff of Universitas Diponegoro, solemnly participated in the commemoration ceremony of Pancasila Sanctity Day with the theme “Together with Pancasila, We Realize a Golden Indonesia,” held at the Widya Puraya Field, UNDIP Tembalang Campus, on Tuesday (10/1/2024).

As the ceremony inspector, on behalf of the Rector, Vice Rector for Academic and Student Affairs of UNDIP, Prof.rer.nat Heru Susanto, S.T., M.T., had the opportunity to read the official pledge script from the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology of the Republic of Indonesia.

One of the sequences in the ceremony was the reading of the Pancasila Sanctity Pledge. The pledge is a form of commitment to safeguard and uphold Pancasila as the ideology of the Indonesian Nation. This pledge is also expected to motivate the Indonesian people to continue implementing Pancasila’s values.

The Ministry’s pledge text, read by Prof. Heru Susanto, stated that, with the grace of God Almighty, it is fully realized that since the proclamation of the Independence of the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia on August 17, 1945, there have been many attempts, both from within and outside the country, to undermine the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia.

“These threats were made possible due to the negligence and lack of vigilance of the Indonesian people towards activities aimed at overthrowing Pancasila as the State Ideology. With the spirit of unity based on the noble values of Pancasila ideology, the Indonesian Nation has been able to strengthen the standing of the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia,” he continued.

“Therefore, before God Almighty, in commemorating Pancasila Sanctity Day, we are determined to continue upholding and practicing the values of Pancasila as a source of strength to foster unity, to fight for, and to uphold truth and justice for the integrity of the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia,” concluded Prof. Heru at the end of the pledge reading.
