UNDIP, Semarang (April 9) – Anggun Puspitarini Siswanto, S.T., Ph.D., a lecturer from the Industrial Chemical Engineering Technology Study Program, Vocational School of Universitas Diponegoro (UNDIP), delivered a guest lecture on Circular Economy at RWTH Aachen University, Germany, on Friday, April 4, 2025. This event was part of the Theodore von Kármán Fellowship program and took place at IME – Metallurgical Process Technology and Metal Recycling, Institute and Chair of RWTH Aachen.
During the lecture, Dr. Anggun presented a talk titled “Circular Economy Opportunity for Indonesia and How Universitas Diponegoro Takes Part in It.” The session was met with great enthusiasm from RWTH Aachen’s academic community and was followed by an engaging and interactive discussion.
She elaborated on the development of circular economy implementation in Indonesia and highlighted UNDIP’s tangible contributions to supporting this initiative. Dr. Anggun also emphasized that the circular economy aligns closely with the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Participants actively engaged in discussions, not only about circular economy practices in Indonesia but also showed strong interest in various academic activities at UNDIP.
As a result of the discussion, several participants expressed interest in establishing academic collaborations with UNDIP, including participation in summer courses, serving as visiting professors, and initiating joint research projects with related faculties. Plans for developing a joint Centre of Excellence between RWTH Aachen and UNDIP were also discussed.
As Deputy Director of Partnerships at the Directorate of Innovation, Downstreaming, and Collaboration at UNDIP, Dr. Anggun welcomed these potential partnerships. Further coordination for international collaboration will be managed by the Directorate of Reputation, Partnerships, and Global Connectivity under the leadership of the Vice Rector for Research, Innovation, Cooperation, and Public Communication, Mr. Wijayanto, S.IP., M.Si., Ph.D.
In line with UNDIP’s vision of becoming one of the Top 500 World Universities, the university continues to pursue and expand international collaboration opportunities—particularly in academics and the implementation of the Tri Dharma of Higher Education.
