UNDIP, Purwokerto (September 14, 2025) – Students from the Industrial Chemical Engineering Technology (TRKI) program at the Vocational School of Universitas Diponegoro (UNDIP) have once again made their mark at the national level. At the National Economic Events X Edutalk Fair Competition (NETs X EFC) 2025, held at Universitas Jenderal Soedirman in Purwokerto on September 6–7, 2025, the TRKI UNDIP team delivered an outstanding performance, earning the title of Grand Champion along with five prestigious awards.
The team’s achievements included a gold medal, a bronze medal, two Best Idea awards, and the Best Poster award. These accolades established the TRKI UNDIP team as the top-performing team in a competition that brought together students from leading universities across Indonesia. Beyond competition, the event showcased students’ ability to craft scientific essays, develop innovative solutions, and present their ideas effectively.
In this contest, the TRKI UNDIP team introduced an eco-friendly bioindicator designed to detect food safety. The innovation combines food technology with sustainability principles, offering an efficient, affordable, and easily applicable early detection system within the food supply chain.
The solution addresses global food safety issues while supporting the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly in the areas of food security and public health. In line with the competition theme, “ASEAN Economic Renaissance,” the UNDIP vocational students showcased innovations that are competitive, globally relevant, and beneficial to society.
The success stemmed from the hard work of three students—Maya Qisthina Gaissani, Sigit Pramana, and Femas Wisnu Abby—guided by faculty advisor Yusuf Ma’rifat Fajar Azis, S.T., M.T., with continued support from the Head of the TRKI Study Program, Dr. Mohamad Endy Julianto, S.T., M.T.
According to Dr. Mohamad Endy, the accomplishment proves that vocational students excel not only in industrial practice but also in critical thinking, scientific writing, and technology-driven solutions. He expressed hope that this achievement would inspire other students to compete and develop impactful innovations.
Beyond medals, the TRKI UNDIP team’s victory at NETs X EFC 2025 symbolizes the commitment of young people to drive positive change through science and environmentally friendly technology. “This achievement shows that big dreams, hard work, and strong academic support can propel students to the highest levels,” Dr. Julianto said. The milestone also underscores the importance of vocational education as a strategic pathway in national development.
With this remarkable achievement, TRKI UNDIP’s program reaffirms its identity as an excellent and competitive vocational study program that makes meaningful contributions to both industry challenges and community needs. The success brings pride and embodies the spirit of “Noble and Valuable UNDIP,” aligning with the Ministry’s vision of impactful science and technology education.
