UNDIP and BNNP of Central Java Collaborate on “Goes to Campus War on Drugs” to Create a Drug-Free Campus (Bersinar)

UNDIP, Semarang (26/2) – Universitas Diponegoro (UNDIP) has officially reaffirmed its commitment to creating a healthy academic environment through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the National Narcotics Agency of Central Java Province (BNNP of Central Java).

The event, themed “Goes to Campus War on Drugs for Humanity to UNDIP Bersinar (Drug-Free)”, was held on Thursday, February 26, 2026, at 10:00 AM in the Rector’s Meeting Room, 2nd Floor, Widya Puraya Building, UNDIP Tembalang Campus. This collaboration specifically regulates the prevention and eradication of narcotics abuse and illicit trafficking of Narcotics and Narcotics Precursors (P4GN) through the implementation of the Tri Dharma of Higher Education.

The signing of this MoU aims to optimize the potential of both parties in creating a society free from addictive substance abuse while improving the quality of education and community service. This functional synergy is carried out in accordance with the principles of good faith and equality, ensuring the sustainability of protection programs for the entire academic community.

In his remarks, the Rector of Universitas Diponegoro, Prof. Dr. Suharnomo, S.E., M.Si., emphasized that as a State University with Legal Entity status (PTN-BH), UNDIP has a significant responsibility to provide clean and dignified education. Prof. Suharnomo firmly stated, “We want to ensure that the campus environment is not only a center of intellectual excellence but also a strong moral fortress.”

“Collaboration with the BNNP of Central Java is a systematic preventive effort so that our students are not only academically intelligent but also possess the integrity to reject all forms of narcotics abuse for a better future of the nation,” he added.

In line with this, the Head of BNNP Central Java, Toton Rasyid, S.H., M.H., stated that the synergy spans a broad scope, from early detection to the development of human resource competencies. “Campuses are strategic partners for BNN in breaking the chain of drug trafficking. Through the ‘Goes to Campus’ program, we prioritize a humanitarian and scientific educational approach. We are committed to fully supporting UNDIP through data provision, research facilitation, and internship programs for students so they can directly understand the real challenges of P4GN in the field.”

The cooperation program also targets the development of educational materials on the dangers of narcotics abuse, which will be organically integrated into course curricula. In addition, both parties agreed to exchange data and information and to publish scientific papers in the field of narcotics, focusing on innovation, technology, and healthcare services.

Through this strong commitment, Universitas Diponegoro continues to strive to become a pioneer in creating a safe, healthy, and conducive educational environment for the development of human potential.
