Komnas HAM Jakarta Visits UNDIP’s Directorate of Media Networks, Community, and Public Communication to Benchmark Public Communication Management Strategies

UNDIP, Semarang (11/3) – The public relations team from the National Commission on Human Rights (Komnas HAM) Jakarta conducted a working visit and sharing session with the Directorate of Media Networks, Community, and Public Communication (Jejak) of Universitas Diponegoro (UNDIP) on Wednesday, March 11, 2026, at the Rector’s Meeting Room, 2nd Floor of the Widya Puraya Building, UNDIP Tembalang Campus. The activity served as a discussion forum to exchange experiences in social media management, public communication, and strengthening public information services.

The event, themed “Social Media and Public Communication Management Strategies,” was attended by representatives from the Bureau of Legal Affairs, Public Relations, and Cooperation of Komnas HAM, along with their team, as well as leaders and staff of the Directorate of Media Networks, Community, and Public Communication UNDIP.

In her remarks, Dr. Nurul Hasfi, S.Sos., M.A., Director of Media Networks, Community, and Public Communication at UNDIP, stated that the visit provided an opportunity to build networks and share experiences in managing public communication within government institutions. “We warmly welcome the visit from Komnas HAM’s public relations team. Forums like this provide space for mutual learning, discussion, and sharing of experiences related to public communication management, strategies for managing internal and external media, and crisis communication management,” she said.

Meanwhile, the Head of the Bureau of Legal Affairs, Public Relations, and Cooperation of Komnas HAM, Gatot Ristanto, S.H., M.H., explained that the visit aimed to strengthen the institution’s capacity to manage public communication and ensure information transparency, as well as to exchange experiences with UNDIP on crisis communication management.

“We want to learn from practices implemented by universities, particularly UNDIP, in managing public communication and social media. We hope this experience can serve as a reference for strengthening public information management at Komnas HAM, considering that we are an institution that is quite vulnerable to crises,” he stated.

On this occasion, Komnas HAM’s public relations team and the Director of Media Networks, Community, and Public Communication at UNDIP also explored opportunities for collaborative campaigns on human rights protection and violence prevention within campus environments, which are currently among the university’s priority programs.

Through this activity, both institutions aim to strengthen knowledge exchange and promote more effective, transparent, and adaptive public communication management in response to the evolving digital media landscape. (UNDIP/Public Communication/Hng)
