UNDIP, Semarang (14/5) – Badminton Association (Persatuan Bulutangkis / PB) of UNDIP and UMY held a badminton match in order to strengthen the friendship between these two campuses. The event was held on Thursday, May 14th, 2026 at 08.00-12.00 AM at UNDIP Polytron Stadium. This friendly match was initiated by Prof. Bambang Jatmiko, S.E., M.Si., Head of PB at the Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta (UMY).
Chairman of PB UNDIP, Prof. Dr. Ir. Jamari, S.T., M.T., IPU., ASEAN Eng. said in his speech that the essence of this match is not to seek victory, but to strengthen the friendship of UNDIP with UMY. “We are not here to seek victory, but to seek happiness,” said Prof Jamari.
In line with Prof Jamari, Prof. Dr. Dyah Mutiarin, S.IP., M.Si. as the Vice Rector for Human Resources of UMY in the speech also said that this activity is not to seek victory but friendship between campuses. “It is true what Prof. Jamari said that we are here to strengthen friendship,” said Prof Dyah.
She also appreciated that UNDIP successfully has a Badminton Stadium that is in accordance with international standards. “UNDIP is really great to have stadium facilities that are in accordance with international standards. Hopefully UMY can be like UNDIP,” said Prof. Dyah.
The competition was attended by the academics community member of PB UNDIP and PB UMY. The activity went smoothly and full of warmth between the academics community of UNDIP and UMY.
In the future, PB UNDIP will be more intense in holding friendly matches with the Badminton Association (PB) of other universities to strengthen collaboration and accomplish a healthy and productive academic community for “Noble and Valuable UNDIP.” (Public Communication/UNDIP/AKS ed. Ut)
