Professional Engineering Study Program (PSPPI) Faculty of Engineering Diponegoro University Graduated 14 Students

ASEAN Economic Community has been implemented and it gives the freedom to the economic trade and labor competition, especially engineers in the ASEAN region. The Indonesian government has implemented it through UU No. 11 the Year 2014 to prepare and to face this engineer competition. In 2015, Indonesia was left behind compared to other ASEAN countries such as Singapore, Malaysia, and Thailand in the number of engineers per one million people. The presence of UU No. 11 the Year 2014 about engineering was the solution for Indonesian engineering development along with the ASEAN Economic Community.

One of the higher education roles in supporting UU No. 11 the Year 2014 is to open the Professional Engineering Study Program. Diponegoro University (Undip) is one of the higher educations that got this mandate. Professional Engineering Study Program can answer this mandate by holding an education with the Regular Mode and Past Learning Recognition Mode with a total of 24 study credits. PLR is one of the forms of recognition from student experience based on learning experience obtained from the training, research, engineering practice and publication experience. PSPPI FT Undip had a graduation ceremony for the Engineering Student (Ir.) with the total students 14 people. The graduation was held on January 30th, 2020 and followed by the oath-taking in the evening. This was the 157th graduation for Undip while it was the second for the PSPPI FT Undip. The graduation ceremony was attended by the Rector of Diponegoro University, Prof. Yos Johan Utama, S.H., M. Hum., and the Head of Study Program, Prof. Ir. Widayat, S.T., M.T. Prof. Widayat said the total graduates were 56 students.

The graduation was also followed by the graduates from the industry and the related ministry/service. The graduates from PT. Djarum Kudus were 8 students, PT. Solusindo Tirtatek, PT. Gasuma Federal Indonesia and PT. Albemarle Chemicals Indonesia was 1 student from each company. The graduates were also coming from the Ministry of Transportation and Public Works and Transportation Agencies. One of the best graduates was Ir. This profession program is useful for upgrading the engineering quality towards technological development in accordance with the mandate of UU No. 11 the Year 2014 for 40 Indonesia higher educations.  The mandate is about engineering and its function to develop the infrastructure and Indonesian industry by looking at the rising global competition in the engineering field. The study program was divided into two; Regular Program for a year (2 semesters) and Past Recognition Program or RPL minimum for a semester.
