The First Day of Independent Exam at UNDIP Runs Smoothly

Semarang – Today, Monday, June 21st 2021, Diponegoro University (Undip) is conducting an online Independent Exam of Prospective Undergraduate Students. On the first day, the online exam went smoothly. Participants work on questions online in their domiciles with strict supervision from Education Quality Assurance and Development Institute (Lembaga Pengembangan dan Penjaminan Mutu Pendidikan / LP2MP) Diponegoro University.

Participants work on questions using the CAT (Computer Assisted Test) application which was designed directly by the IT team of Diponegoro University. It is an achievement for Undip because its IT team can independently conduct CAT-based online exams nationally. In addition, participants do not need to worry if there will be technical problems during the exam, because the IT team has been prepared to overcome these technical obstacles, so that participants do not lose their rights in working on exam questions.

As previously known, Undip Independent Exam of Prospective Undergraduate Students will be held for 10 days from June 21st – July 2nd 2021. There are 3 exam sessions in each day and using 2 kinds of testing models, namely using report cards and portfolios, as well as computer-based written tests carried out from the domiciles of participants. “There are 2 types of online exams, the first is they make a portfolio, the second is a written exam which is conducted online. So they do not have to come to Semarang, they work on the test from their respective domiciles,” explained Dr. Ir. Setia Budi Sasongko, DEA as Head of LP2MP Undip in an interview on Monday (21/06/2021).

The online exam held by Diponegoro University also helped the Government’s program in reducing the impacts of Covid-19 pandemic. “Incidentally, we are currently in a Covid-19 pandemic so that we hold the exam by online. Health protocols are implemented by not gathering in one place, not meeting face to face and no mobilization from city to city,” said Dr. Ir. Setia Budi Sasongko, DEA.

Furthermore, Dr. Ir. Setia Budi Sasongko, DEA added that Undip will always focus on the next 10 days of exam. “We pray that it will run smoothly in the next 10 days,” he said.

The estimated quota that will be received through the Independent Exam path is 50% of all for Undergraduate level. From National Entrance Selection for State Universities (Seleksi Nasional Masuk Perguruan Tinggi Negeri / SNMPTN) path is 20%, and from Joint Entrance Selection of State Universities (Seleksi Bersama Masuk Perguruan Tinggi Negeri / SBMPTN) path is 30%.
