Nidom Foundation Tested the Effectiveness of UNDIP’s Zeta Green CPR in Reducing Covid-19 Virus in the Room

SEMARANG – Diponegoro University (UNDIP) and Laboratory A Biosafety Level 3 (BSL 3), PNF (Professor Nidom Foundation), CPR (Center for Plasma Research), conducted a test on Zeta Green in reducing Covid-19 virus. Zeta Green is an air purifier that functions to attract and filter dirty air, smoke (CO2), kill viruses, bacteria, and fungi in the room, created by tUndip Center for Plasma Research.

From the results of the experiments carried out, Zeta Green is known to be able to significantly reduce the number of viruses, bacteria and fungi in the test room; including the SARS-CoV-2 virus. Therefore, there is hope that the presence of this tool can reduce the spread of diseases such as Covid-19, especially in meeting rooms used to interact by many people.

Head of Corona Research Team and PNF Formulation (Professor Nidom Foundation), Prof. Dr. Chaerul Anwar Nidom, drh., MS, said that Zeta Green is known to have the ability to break down particles, including virus particles into nanoscale. “We tested some kinds of viruses Zeta Green in BSL3 including Covid-19 virus, and from there we hope that Zeta Green can break down or kill or inactivate the Covid-19 virus,” said Prof Nidom, in recent interview.

According to the Professor of Molecular Biology at Airlangga University (Unair), the reduction of viruses, bacteria and fungi that can be carried out is related to the length of time the tool is operating. “We conducted test using Zeta Grren for the virus in 15 minutes, then 30 minutes, then 1 hour. Then we analyze the amount of viruses which can be died, hopefully we can produce maximum results,” he said.

He hoped that the results of further tests of Zeta Green in reducing the ability of viruses, fungi and bacteria remains significant, so that this tool will certainly help the community in overcoming the Covid-19 pandemic through air purification and cleaning in the room. “Currently, we are worried that the new variant of Covid-19 virus can be transmitted through the air or when we are in the room. It is possible to be infected to the new variant of Covid-19 even by run into people with Covid. I am sure Zeta Green can give the best answer to overcome that,” he emphasized.

Prof. Nidom revealed that the testing method used for Zeta Green was to put it in an airtight chamber in the Biosafety Level 3 Laboratory. After being isolated, the virus was put into a petri dish placed in the chamber. Then the tool is activated in span of 15 minutes, 30 minutes and 60 minutes to process the air in the chamber. The test results were then being analyzed to measure the effectiveness of the tool.

The results of the test are currently being deeply analyzed. Researchers hope to get an effective time for the reduction of viruses, fungi and bacteria in a room, and to determine the maximum reduction capability of Zeta Green. “With the help of this tool, we hope that the spread of Covid-19 virus will decrease, at least its concentration will decrease to a threshold so that it does not easily infect humans,” he hoped.

Head of Undip’s CPR (Center for Plasma Research), Prof. Dr. Muhammad Nur, DEA, said that Zeta Green is an air purifier made by Undip team based on safe and healthy plasma technology. The tool is dedicated to reduce the risk of spreading harmful viruses, bacteria and fungi, especially in meeting rooms and places where human interaction occurs. In addition to reducing viruses, bacteria and fungi, Zeta Green has also been proven to be effective in filtering dirty air and CO2.

The certain thing is besides its main function as an air purifier, Zeta Green also functions to absorb air in the room, process it and release it again into clean and healthy air. In addition to viruses, bacteria, fungi, CO2, this tool can also remove dust particles.

Prof. Nur hoped that by conducting a test at the Biosafety Level 3 (BSL 3) Laboratory A conducted by Professor Nidom Foundation, the benefits and drawbacks of this method can be known. By knowing it from the independent party, researchers at CPR can get useful input for improving the tool.

Temporary data available at Undip CPR showed that treatment for 15 minutes using Zeta Green, the virus population in the room can drop to 99.9%. As for the trials with a time of 30 minutes and 60 minutes, the virus was 100 percent gone. “This tool is very good for us to be put on a workspace with a lot of employees, at home and other rooms,” said Prof. Nur.

Regarding the effectiveness of Zeta Green against variants of viruses, Prof. Nur said that tests had been carried out on 3 variants of the Covid-19 viruses, including the delta variant. He stated that he would wait for the analysis results from the laboratory test of Nidom Foundation. (PR team)
