RSND UNDIP Welcomed the Visit of the Deputy Governor of Central Java and BPJS Ketenagakerjaan

Dr. dr. Sutopo Patria Jati, M.M., M.Kes. as the President Director of the Diponegoro National Hospital (RSND) highly appreciated the cooperation visit of BPJS Ketenagakerjaan in research and innovation efforts in the field of occupational health and safety, on Friday (3/6).

“We have a robotic rehabilitation center and medical device innovation where the facility is the result of a collaboration between Faculty of Engineering, Faculty of Medicine, CBIOM3S, and RSND. Currently, the need for the development of appropriate technology is needed by many patients, so it is necessary to develop independence in research and produce robotic product innovations, especially in the world of medicine and health,” he said.

This event was attended by the Deputy Governor of Central Java, Taj Yasin Maimoen who had the opportunity to meet with Eko Suryanto, an RSND patient who had a work accident that cut his left hand because it caught the rubber conveyor and hit the wheel. All work accident treatment is guaranteed by BPJS Ketenagakerjaan since undergoing the amputation at Dr. Oen Surakarta Hospital, to receive Filly Hand assistance from RSND. Filly Hand is a product of biomechanical technology and medical device innovation produced by RSND-CBIOM3S-FK UNDIP.

“This collaboration needs to be encouraged to continue to be developed in order to provide benefits to many parties, including to Undip whose research results can be implemented in real terms to patients who have a need for prosthetic hands and feet, as well as to BPJS Ketenagakerjaan which provides fulfillment of needs at a more affordable price. These activities also aim to be a campaign of products made in Indonesia. On behalf of the Central Java Provincial Government and personally, let’s do the campaign together. For further research, such as prosthetic limbs in the future, it will be developed by RSND Undip. This is what we really have to encourage,” said the Deputy Governor of Central Java.

Meanwhile, the Managing Director of BPJS Ketenagakerjaan, Anggoro Eko Cahyo, said that Filly Hand is an Undip innovation and his party provides support for this innovation. The Medical Devices will certainly be very helpful for workers who need prosthetic hands and feet, due to work accidents so that the research results are beneficial for workers.

dr. Hari Peni Julianti, M.Kes., Sp.KFR(K) as the team of the Center for Robotic Rehabilitation and Medical Device Innovation RSND-CBIOM3S-FK said that currently the use of robotic technology in the world of health as a tool for diagnosis and patient management is very important.

“Filly Hand is a prosthetic hand product that carries biomechanic technology by prioritizing functions and benefits for its use. It is created to help people with disabilities, especially those who have had amputations, either due to accidents or diseases of the hands. A more affordable price makes Filly Hand able to compete with European products with similar quality. The advantages are easy to operate, separate and easy to get batteries, light weight, 90 percent of spare parts are available domestically, and the price is much cheaper,” concluded dr. Peni.
