Diponegoro University (Undip) held an Open Session of the Academic Senate in the context of the Inauguration of 11 Professors at the Prof. Soedarto, S.H. Building Undip Tembalang campus. The inauguration of 11 (eleven) Professors was carried out in 4 stages for 4 days, on September 27-30, 2022.
The Inauguration of 11 Professors was attended by the Undip Rector, the Chair of the Academic Senate, the Chair of the Board of Trustees, the Chair and Secretary of the Undip Board of Professors, the Vice Rectors, the Deans of Faculties and Schools, and all leaders in Undip.
Undip Rector, Prof. Dr. Yos Johan Utama, S.H., M.Hum., in his remarks congratulated the 11 (eleven) Professors who had been inaugurated. “I, as the Rector of Undip, representing the entire academic community and Undip education staff, would like to congratulate the 11 (eleven) Professors and also to their respective families.” said Prof. Yos.
In addition, Prof. Yos explained that becoming a Professor will later bear great responsibilities, not only in the academic field but also in the non-academic field. “In the academic field, a professor must be able to develop his knowledge into useful knowledge. It is mandatory to find innovations that are always renewable so that science is not obsolete and always adaptive to the times.” he explained.
While in the non-academic field, Prof. Yos added that a professor would be a role model in goodness and has a figure of uswatun khasanah. “Being a role model includes the courage to state what is right and wrong according to the knowledge they have.” continued Prof. Yos.
Furthermore, Prof. Yos hoped that the professors who have been inaugurated can continue to maintain their morals and integrity, and become humble individuals. “Don’t let this professorship make you an arrogant person, but make you a humble person. Don’t forget to maintain morals and integrity as a Professor.” said Prof. Yos.
The Inauguration of Undip Professors was officially opened by the Chair of the Academic Senate, Prof. Ir. Edy Rianto, M.Sc., Ph.D., IPU. In his speech, he said that currently there are 168 professors who are still active at Undip. With the increasing number of Professors that Undip has, it becomes one of the indicators of increasing the quality of the Tri Dharma of Higher Education at Undip.
Prof. Edy added that the Undip Professors who were inaugurated on Tuesday (27/09) including Prof. Dr.nat.techn. Siswo Sumardiono, S.T., M.T. and Prof. Dr. Ir. Ratnawati, M.T. from the Faculty of Engineering, and Prof. Dr. Mohammad Zen Rahfiludin, S.KM., M.Kes. from the Faculty of Public Health. On Wednesday (28/09) the inauguration event was held to inaugurate Prof. Dr. Drs. Ngatno, M.M. from the Faculty of Social Science and Political Science, Prof. Dr. Ani Purwanti, S.H., M. Hum. from the Faculty of Law, and Prof. Dr. Endang Susilowati, M.A. from the Faculty of Humanities.
Then the Professors who were inaugurated on Thursday (29/09), namely Prof. Dr. Drs. Nugroho Sumarjiyanto Benedict Maria, M.Si. from the Faculty of Economics and Business, Prof. Dr. Ir. R. Siti Rukayah, M.T. and Prof. Dr. Ir. Windu Partono, M.Sc. from the Faculty of Engineering. Furthermore, on Friday (30/09), Prof. Ir. Mochamad Arief Budihardjo, S.T., M.Eng.Sc, Env.Eng, Ph.D., IPM. from the Faculty of Engineering and Prof. Dr. Dra. Erma Prihastanti, M.Si. from the Faculty of Science and Mathematics were inaugurated.
