Semarang-Central Java (11/10). In commemoration of the 61st Anniversary, the Faculty of Medicine, Diponegoro University held a 61st Anniversary celebration on Saturday (1/10) in the Multipurpose Room of the Faculty of Medicine, Diponegoro University. The event raised the theme “Knitting Hope to Build a Nation Generation that Cares and Excels”.
In his remarks, the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Diponegoro University, Prof. Dr. dr. Dwi Pudjonarko, M.Kes, Sp.S(K) conveyed several achievements of the Faculty of Medicine Undip, including first taker graduation at the 2021 Medical UKMPPD which reached 92%, as well as at the 2022 UKOM NERS and 2021 UKOM Undergraduate Nutrition which reached 100%. In addition, there are 95.65% of S1 and D4/D3/D2 graduates who successfully continue their studies or get jobs or become entrepreneurs. Regarding facilities and infrastructure, the Dean conveyed several new facilities owned by FK Undip, which follow technological developments such as smart classes, studios for podcasts and recordings, multipurpose rooms with soundproof technology, e-library and the Diponegoro Medical Simulation Center.
Every year in connection with the series of the Anniversary of the Faculty of Medicine, Diponegoro University, a professor’s oration is held. The professor’s oration was delivered by Prof dr. Sultana MH Faradz, PAK., PhD, with the theme “The Long Journey from Cells to Precision Medicine in the Genomic Era”. This theme is in accordance with the theme of her research during her career as a professor. The professor’s oration has always been on the agenda for the Anniversary of FK Undip. The professor’s oration is expected to be a fire that burns the spirit of the younger generation to continue learning and deepening knowledge throughout their lives.
The commemoration of the Anniversary of FK Undip was also enlivened by dance performances from the students of the Faculty of Medicine Undip. This performance symbolically shows that as students whose main task is to study, they must not forget the local wisdom of the Indonesian homeland. There are 2 kinds of dances that are performed, namely the merak dance and the saman dance. In addition to symbolically preserving the original culture of Indonesia, this dance performance event also shows the diversity that exists in Indonesia. Through this diversity, Indonesia has become rich and cultured.
The committee also invited Professors and representatives of the academic community of FK Undip. The event was continued with cutting of tumpeng which means as a form of gratitude for having succeeded in developing into the successful Faculty of Medicine Undip as it is today.
The event closed with a pilgrimage to the tomb of FK Undip which had an implied meaning. The tomb pilgrimage has the meaning to always appreciate and remember the services of the deceased who have preceded us. Their services in building FK Undip are countless. The event, which has been held regularly every year, is expected to be a source of enthusiasm for learning and teaching by the entire academic community of FK Undip so that in the future FK Undip will be more victorious.
