Jepara (23/11) – The third day of the 1st International Student Leader Meeting (ISLM) 2022 event was held on Wednesday, November 23, 2022 at the Marine Science Techno Park (MSTP), Diponegoro University (Undip), Teluk Awur Jepara. As the host of this year’s ISLM, Undip invited conference participants consisting of Indonesian students and international students to increase environmental awareness which is the agenda of this forum to form sustainable leaders through the actions of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
MSTP Undip Jepara is a place for research and innovation development in the marine sector, which has various aquaculture facilities such as coral reef cultivation, IMTA (Integrated Multi Trophic Aquaculture) floating net cage technology, vannamei shrimp farming technology, research ponds, hatchery, liquid smoke machine , fish processing industry miniplant, and many more.
In this activity, the participants of The 1st International Student Leaders Meeting (ISLM) 2022 carried out activities related to marine and brackish water cultivation, which include the Sustainable Shrimp Farming Mini Workshop, Mangrove Planting Action, Beach Clean Up. The participants were invited to tour the MSTP Undip Jepara area, starting with the Sustainable Shrimp Farming Mini Workshop where it was explained about vannamei shrimp research ponds and their cultivation. Then the group of participants was divided into 2 (two) groups to take part in mangrove planting activities (Mangrove Planting Action) and cleaning the MSTP Undip Jepara beach area (Beach Clean Up).
Next, Dr. Ir. Nurzainah Ginting, M.Sc. as Head of Eco-enzyme Team of UI GreenMetric World University Rankings Network (UIGWURN) conducted a simple demonstration of how Eco-enzymes work in household waste.
Closing this event, Dr. Junaidi, S.S., M.A. as Vice Chair of Program, Communication, and Partnership UIGM would like to thank the participants and all parties who have enthusiastically participated in the series of activities The 1st International Student Leaders Meeting (ISLM) 2022 for 3 (three) days on November 21-23, 2022. “It’s a wonderful event.
