Klego, Boyolali – Undip Community Service Team I students for the 2022/2023 Academic Year designed the Klego Reservoir Sunrise Tourism Master Plan as the implementation of a multidisciplinary Community Service Program (KKN). The design results were presented to village officials on Saturday (11/02/2023).
Currently, Klego village does not yet have its own sports and gathering facilities. This is because the potential of existing tourism villages has not been properly optimized due to the inefficient costs of supporting tourism development.
The Klego village government has plans to develop an open area that can be used as a tourist facility and gathering place. There is village-owned land around the Klego Reservoir which is planned to be constructed into a public space.
The land is planned to be used as a means of sports, tourism and gathering. Through this opportunity, Undip Community Service students plan a program in the form of a master plan design that maximizes tourism potential, as well as providing safe and comfortable public spaces for the community.
Making the concept of tourism and open space around the Klego reservoir is an effort by Undip KKN students to support the Klego village plan to initiate a sunrise tour in Klego village.
To make this happen, they did not only design recreational and aesthetic tourist spots, but also prioritized the availability of public facilities such as toilets, gathering rooms, exercise rooms, parking lots, jogging tracks, website for MSMEs activities, and many more.
Making a sunrise tour master plan prioritizes the availability of places to gather, so there are many facilities such as long chairs, joglo, pavilion, and photo spots. The design is made wide enough so that it can accommodate many people who want to have recreation.
Next to the reservoir, there is a wharf design consisting of two levels. The upper level can be used as a place to relax, take pictures and gather while enjoying the view of the sunrise, while the lower level is a place where canoes and fisherman’s boats pull over.
The village government enthusiastically welcomed this program. The KKN Coordinating Head of the Klego Village, Kevin Ryo Pratama, hopes that by making a sunrise tourism master plan, the village and community can be helped.
“Our hope is that this master plan can be realized so that people’s needs for safe and comfortable public spaces can be fulfilled,” said Kevin. He added that the facilities and infrastructure in the master plan could be readjusted to the needs of the village.
