Commitment to Digital Transparency: UNDIP Ranks Again in Indonesia’s Top 10 in July 2025 Webometrics Ranking

Universitas Diponegoro (UNDIP) once again secured a place among the top 10 universities nationally in the July 2025 edition of the Webometrics Ranking. This achievement not only reflects UNDIP’s academic strength but also underscores the university’s commitment to transparency and accountability in the digital era.

As of July 24, 2025, the official Webometrics rankings list the national and global standings as follows:

  1. Universitas Indonesia (Global rank: 493)
  2. Universitas Gadjah Mada (Global rank: 674)
  3. Universitas Airlangga (Global rank: 745)
  4. Institut Teknologi Bandung (Global rank: 846)
  5. Universitas Padjadjaran Bandung (Global rank: 956)
  6. Universitas Brawijaya (Global rank: 1004)
  7. Universitas Diponegoro (Global rank: 1061)
  8. Institut Pertanian Bogor (Global rank: 1075)
  9. Universitas Sebelas Maret (Global rank: 1099)
  10. Universitas Telkom (Global rank: 1173)

UNDIP Rector Prof. Dr. Suharnomo, S.E., M.Si., expressed his appreciation for the hard work and collaboration across the university community. He stated that this achievement is a testament to UNDIP’s consistency in promoting open and inclusive knowledge as well as impactful and accessible academic publications.

“Webometrics is not merely about digital visibility—it also represents an institution’s scientific productivity and academic reputation. With credible indicators such as citations, scientific publications, and journal reputation, UNDIP continues to strengthen its presence not just nationally but also globally, in line with the spirit of ‘Noble and Valuable UNDIP,'” he said.

Vice Rector for Human Resources, Information Technology, Law, and Organization, Prof. Dr. Adian Fatchur Rochim, S.T., M.T., also expressed his gratitude for this milestone. He reaffirmed UNDIP’s commitment to breaking into the global top 500 and emphasized that Webometrics offers an objective measure of digital transformation progress in higher education.

“This ranking serves as a crucial indicator of institutional credibility, as Webometrics presents a transparent and accountable overview of a university’s performance and achievements. At UNDIP, we believe that digital excellence must always align with academic ethics, data protection, and social impact,” he added.

With a spirit of collaboration, UNDIP will continue to actively contribute to building digital excellence alongside other higher education institutions. These efforts aim to ensure that technological advancement is always rooted in human values and sustainability.

For context, Webometrics is developed by Cybermetrics Lab in Spain and is published twice annually—in January and July. The rankings assess higher education institutions based on webometric and bibliometric indicators, including website visibility, scientific publications, citations, and journal reputation.
