Another proud achievement was achieved by Universitas Diponegoro (Undip) students. UKM Basketball Undip through the Men’s and Women’s Basketball Teams won 1st place in the 2023 Gadjah Mada Basketball Competition which was held on 14-21 May 2023 at the Pancasila Sports Hall, UGM.
In the final match, the Undip Men’s Basketball Team defeated the Universitas Islam Indonesia (UII) Men’s Basketball Team with a score of 66:61. Meanwhile, the Undip Women’s Basketball Team in the final match managed to beat the Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) Women’s Basketball Team with a score of 58:54.
The 2023 Gadjah Mada Basketball Competition is one of the activities held by UKM Basketball of the Universitas Gadjah Mada. This activity was held for the first time and became an arena for basketball matches between students from various universities in the Special Region of Yogyakarta and its surrounding areas.
The 2023 Gadjah Mada Basketball Competition was attended by 6 (six) Men’s Basketball Teams and 4 (four) Women’s Basketball Teams. The 6 (six) Men’s Basketball Teams include Universitas Diponegoro, Universitas Gadjah Mada, Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta, Universitas Ahmad Dahlan, Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta, and the Islamic University of Indonesia.
Meanwhile, the 4 (four) Women’s Basketball Teams include Diponegoro University, Gadjah Mada University, Yogyakarta State University, and the Universitas Islam Indonesia.
