Diponegoro University commemorated the Birth of Pancasila in 2023 by holding a flag ceremony which took place at Widya Puraya Field, Tembalang and was attended by the Undip academic community, Thursday (01/6).
This time, the commemoration of the Birth of Pancasila carries the theme “Gotong Royong to Build Civilization and Global Growth”. Undip Rector, Prof. Dr. Yos Johan Utama, S.H., M.Hum. in his written remarks conveyed that the principles of Pancasila must always be maintained by understanding and reflecting on the 5 (five) basic universal values of Pancasila itself, namely Divinity, Humanity, Diversity, Democracy and Social Justice.
“In composing the ideology of a plural nation-state, Pancasila was explored from the noble values of national culture in the archipelago and has a dynamic and universal meaning that remains relevant today in the midst of dynamics. We are state administrators who are the front line in maintaining Pancasila values, especially in government affairs in the fields of education and culture,” said the Rector.
On the occasion, the Rector also said that Pancasila is a way of life that can be used as a daily principle because Pancasila respects human rights, has compassion, protects and sympathizes.
“Undip is trying to implement Pancasila values slowly but surely so that it can instill Pancasila values and an independent spirituality in all of our hearts and selves, not with mere slogans,” explained the Rector.
This ceremony is interesting because the Deans who attended the ceremony wore national traditional clothes from several regions, including Javanese, Palembang and Malay traditional clothes. This symbolizes the diversity that exists in Undip, where Undip exists to serve all nations, races and religions, according to the values contained in Pancasila.
“I appreciate the students, staff, both educational staff and educators as well as the Deans who attended the ceremony today wearing traditional clothes for the ceremony of the Birth of Pancasila. This shows our diversity in Undip,” said Prof. Yos Johan Utama, S.H., M.Hum. (LW/Raghabendra/Dethisa – Public Relations)
