Semarang, June 14, 2023 – Information technology advances have changed how we work, shop, communicate, and learn. Universities must prepare human resources who are ready and capable in this digital era. Failure to adapt can result in missed opportunities in fast-growing markets. With these demands, the Faculty of Economics and Business, Diponegoro University (FEB Undip), is proud to announce the opening of a new study program, Digital Business, in the 2023/2024 Academic Year. This study program is open for registration through the Independent Examination (UM) 1 route until June 22, 2023.
The Digital Business study program was officially opened based on the Rector’s Decree No. 56/UN7.A/HK/VI/2023. It is intended to prepare students in the rapidly growing field of digital business. This study program provides many advantages to the students. One of the advantages of the Digital Business study program is its curriculum which is designed to meet the demands of modern industry and encourage success in digital business. Students will learn about the latest technologies and innovative business applications such as e-commerce, big data analytics, and information risk management.
Another advantage of this study program is the opportunities for internships and practical work in leading companies in the digital business industry. The students can gain valuable experience in preparing for their careers after graduation. Subjects that differentiate from similar study programs at other universities include Bloomberg for students, Big Data Analytics, Financial Technology, Blockchain, Deep Learning & Machine Learning, and Digital Strategy.
Graduates of the Digital Business study program are expected to have the skills needed by global companies engaged in digital business. The Digital Business study program introduces students to digital business concepts and provides opportunities to develop practical human resource management, digital marketing, and project management skills.
The projection of graduates of the Undip Digital Business study program is very promising. In the next few years, graduates will have many opportunities in Indonesia’s rapidly growing digital business industry and worldwide. They will be able to become Startup Entrepreneurs in Business, Business Development Managers, Digital Strategists, Data Scientists, Financial Analysts, and many more.
Faculty of Economics and Business Undip introduced the Digital Business study program intending to answer the needs of the digital business industry, which is multiplying. Digital business has become a major focus in the global economy in recent years. As a developing country, Indonesia faces challenges in meeting the demand for skilled workers in this field. FEB Undip has provided various facilities and infrastructure to achieve this vision, such as the Entrepreneurship Laboratory. It has business incubators, i-Labs, and inwall tenants, which will support the birth of entrepreneurs and professionals in the digital business sector. There is also a Bloomberg Laboratory with 12 terminals which is the only one in Indonesia and only available at the Faculty of Economics and Business Undip with the capability to access millions of data in real-time. Apart from that, to produce competent resources in marketing analysis and big data experts, there is also a computer laboratory equipped with special software, a complete and innovative library, and other facilities to support students’ learning and self-development activities.
Prof. Dr. Suharnomo, Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Business Undip, said, “The opening of this Digital Business study program is a form of support from the Faculty of Economics and Business Undip in supporting the advancement of the digital industry currently developing in Indonesia. We believe this study program will benefit students and society in general.”
Head of the Management Department, Prof. Harjum Muharam, added, “Our Digital Business study program is expected to produce graduates who are reliable and ready to work in the rapidly increasing digital era.”
