Seven IUP Students from the Department of Regional and Urban Planning UNDIP Successfully Carry Out an Internship at the Technische Universität München

Friday, June 16, 2023, Seven international undergraduate students (International Undergraduate Program, IUP) from the Department of Regional and Urban Planning Undip got the opportunity to intern at the Technische Universität München (TUM). The official departure ceremony occurred at the Dean Building, the Faculty of Engineering.

The departure of the seven IUP students results from a long-standing collaboration between the Faculty of Engineering Undip and the Technische Universität München. TUM is one of the prestigious universities in Germany, where this university has been ranked 49th internationally in general and 20th in the world for the Engineering category according to the QS World Ranking. Through the IUP program, the Faculty of Engineering Undip wants to facilitate its students to experience international studies at prestigious universities worldwide.

The plan is for the seven IUP students batch of 2020 to start their internship in the laboratory under the Chair of Land Management TUM for two months. They plan to start their internship program on July 1, 2023, and end on August 31, 2023.

Aulia Putri Sugiharto, one of the IUP students who went to TUM, said that this program was a form of international exposure they had to take as part of the IUP. This global exposure opportunity allows her to understand her study topics better. “With an internship in Germany, we will learn best practices related to international cases so that there will be a deeper understanding with new perspectives later,” said Aulia.

Jihan Faisa Fitriana Wahyudi, another IUP student, said she was pleased and grateful to have the opportunity to be an intern at TUM. She hopes that later she can get new knowledge from Germany. “I still can’t believe I got an internship at TUM. Hopefully, we will get new knowledge later,” she said.

Jihan advised IUP students from the Department of Regional and Urban Planning Undip to have the courage to try the international exposure opportunities provided. As one of the leading campuses in Indonesia, the IUP of the Department of Regional and Urban Planning Undip offers many opportunities for students to go abroad. “Don’t be afraid to try. In the IUP, there are many opportunities to go abroad,” said a student of the IUP program batch 2020.
