Semarang, (15/07/2023). On July 15, 2023, at the Liem Liang Peng Theater, Karangturi National School Semarang, Diponegoro University Choir (PSM Undip) held a pre-competition concert entitled “True Colors,” A Pre Competition Concert towards the 2023 Taipei International Choral Competition. In the show, Diponegoro University Choir performed several songs that would be performed during the competition in Taipei. The theme will be performed by the contingent team that will participate in the 2023 Taipei International Choral Competition.
Apart from that, there was an appearance from New Comers (the new generation) from the Diponegoro University Choir, who also enlivened this event. By holding this event, the Diponegoro University Choir wants to prepare the best performance to take part in international competitions and simultaneously ask for blessings before leaving to compete. In this concert, the New Comers Diponegoro University Choir was also inaugurated as an official member of the Diponegoro University Choir.
The Taipei International Choral Competition, which is participated in by the Diponegoro University Choir, is an international choir competition attended by choirs from various countries with experienced judges in their fields. This competition will occur in Taipei, Taiwan, on August 2-4, 2023. Diponegoro University Choir will be participating in international competitions again this year to produce international achievements that have previously been achieved.
Diponegoro University Choir is one of the Diponegoro University Student Activity Units (UKM) established on October 15, 1972. As one of the oldest UKMs at Diponegoro University, which consists of Undip students from various faculties and departments, Undip Choir is a place for students who love art, especially vocal arts.
Diponegoro University Choir has a vision to develop the abilities of both members and teams. In addition to vocal technical skills, which are the main focus, Undip Choir also builds organizational skills.
