UNDIP Held a Workshop on Utilizing Scopus, ScienceDirect, and Proquest Databases to Improve Scientific Publications

Undip held a workshop on Utilizing Scopus Databases, ScienceDirect, and Proquest to increase international scientific publications within Diponegoro University and to broaden knowledge about journals subscribed to by Undip on Wednesday, August 30, 2023, at the Meeting Room floor 4 of UPT Libraries and Undip Press.

This activity was carried out in two sessions, the first at 08.30-11.30 WIB and the second at 12.00-15.00 WIB. The academic community of Diponegoro University attended this workshop, including undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral students. This activity was opened directly by the Deputy Chancellor for Communication and Business at Diponegoro University, Prof. Budi Setiyono, S.Sos., M.Pol.Admin., Ph.D.

“One of the objectives of this event is to broaden our capabilities and knowledge about using journals that Undip subscribes to. This workshop is also an activity that we will always grow and develop along with our efforts to make Undip a World Class University,” said Prof. Budi in his remarks.

In his material, resource person Dwi Janto Suandaru, a Scopus agent, explained the use of databases. “This Proquest stores precious information. Proquest has a wide and varied scope, both historical archives and the latest scientific breakthroughs. Proquest packs it with digital technology that improves search results and manages them,” said Dwi Janto.

“More than 26,000 libraries from 150 countries use Proquest. One of them is Diponegoro University. And 98% of the top 400 universities own/subscribe to scientific references from Proquest.” Said Dwi Janto.

Proquest is a database used as research reference material by universities, companies, government agencies, schools, public libraries, and researchers. More than 130 million students and researchers have access to Proquest. More than 9 thousand Publishers and Content Providers have partnered with Proquest.

This workshop will provide additional insight for participants. International journals subscribed to can be utilized optimally by the Undip academic community. (Nadella/Hanang/As – Public Relations)
