TRKI Study Program Lecturers at Diponegoro University Vocational School Received the 2023 Research and Innovation Funding for Advanced Indonesia (RIIM) from the National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN)

A happy news came from lecturers at the Applied Undergraduate Study Program in Industrial Chemical Engineering Technology (TRKI). The information is still in a series on the anniversary of Diponegoro University Vocational School. Anggun Puspitarini Siswanto, S.T., Ph.D. and Hermawan Dwi Ariyanto, S.T., M.Sc., Ph.D. succeeded in obtaining funding for research proposals through the Research and Innovation Funding for Advanced Indonesia (RIIM) organized by the National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN) with financing from LPDP. This funding program has been valid for several years and covers several areas of expertise, including food, health and energy, nanotechnology, environment, and social.

“This proud achievement is a special gift for the Undip Vocational School Anniversary, which the TRKI Study Program can present. After completing their further studies abroad, these young lecturers joined the TRKI Study Program as lecturers. “This is even more special because these two young lecturers are also alumni of the Diploma III Chemical Engineering Study Program, which is the forerunner of the TRKI Applied Bachelor Study Program,” said Mohamad Endy Julianto, S.T., M.T. as Head of the Applied Undergraduate Study Program in Industrial Chemical Engineering Technology, Diponegoro University Vocational School (TRKI SV Undip).

The theme was promoted by Anggun Puspitarini Siswanto, S.T., Ph.D., in the form of “Production of Bioavtur Based on Used Cooking Oil Methyl Ester through the Development of a Nano Bubble Ozonolysis Reactor.” This research was driven by concern about the fossil fuel-based energy crisis, which is a world problem because its availability is minimal and causes global warming. One effort to develop alternative, renewable fuels in the aviation sector includes the use of bioavtur biofuel. Meanwhile, Hermawan Dwi Ariyanto, S.T., M.Sc., Ph.D. who has expertise in the field of Food Technology, is focused on research with the title “Development of a Microwave Biothermochemical Process for the Production of Caffeine-Free Nanopolyphenols Green Tea Modified by Collagen.” It is hoped that the results of this research will soon be commercialized with PPTK Gambung, which is a competitive caffeine-free premium green tea.

Apart from carrying out her duties as a lecturer, Anggun Puspitarini Siswanto, S.T., Ph.D. since 2021, has had additional duties as Head of the International Affairs Office at Diponegoro University. Apart from that, in 2018-2019, she received the honorary title of Visiting Associate Professor from the National Institute of Technology, Akashi College, Japan. Until now, Anggun has also been active as a reviewer in various national and international activities, including the Australia Awards Indonesia Review Panel, LPDP Scholarship, Diksi Competitive Fund, Kedaireka Matching Fund, and IABEE Assessor. Meanwhile, Hermawan Dwi Ariyanto, S.T., M.Sc., Ph.D. is also a young lecturer who is active in activities, some of which are Chair of the International Conference Organizing Committee by the Undip Vocational School, Coordinator of Independent Learning Independent Campus (MBKM) for Vocational Schools at the Diponegoro University level, Internal Quality Audit Auditor (AMI) for Diponegoro University in 2023 and also Secretary of the Vocational School Quality Control Team (TPMSV).

The achievements of the lecturers at the Diponegoro University Vocational School environment support the achievement of the Faculty’s Vision, namely “To Become a Center for Vocational (Applied) Education of Excellence and International Standards.” As stated by Prof. Dr. Ir. Budiyono, M.Si., as Dean of the Diponegoro University Vocational School, the Undip Vocational School academic community is encouraged to make an active contribution to the Tri Dharma of Higher Education activities. It’s Vocational Champion Time! (AS)
