By the end of 2023, UNDIP Inaugurates 32 New Professors

Semarang – Central Java (7/12). Diponegoro University has confirmed 32 new professors in various scientific disciplines. The professor’s inauguration ceremony will be from December 5 to December 14, 2023, at the Prof. Soedarto, S.H. Building, Undip campus, Tembalang. Previously, in September 2023, Diponegoro University made history by appointing 42 professors throughout 2023. Thus, the total number of active professors is currently 223 professors. This extraordinary increase in the number of professors is supported by the success of the program being implemented, namely the OPOC (One Professor, One Candidate) program. OPOC program is in accordance with the Diponegoro University Strategic Plan 2020-2024, namely increasing the number of Professors.

Undip Rector, Prof. Dr. Yos Johan Utama, S.H., M.Hum., said that being a professor carries an enormous academic responsibility, not only in the academic field but also in the non-academic field. In the academic field, a professor must be able to develop his knowledge into knowledge that is useful not only for humanity but also for the universe. As a professor, you are also obliged to find innovations that are always up to date so that science is relevant and is always adaptive to current developments.

“In the non-academic field, being a professor is a role model, and the figure must be able to be uswatun hasanah, an example of goodness. The role of being a role model includes having the courage to say that what is right is right and what is wrong is wrong according to the knowledge that one believes in,” said Prof. Yos.

“Hopefully, the position of Professor will make us more humble and become a blessing for our respective families, for the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia, and for the universe,” he continued.
