PMM 3 UNDIP: United to Provide Meaning and Progress to the Nation

Diponegoro University released 50 (fifty) inbound students from the Independent Student Exchange / PMM 3 program who came from 27 (twenty-seven) universities throughout Indonesia at the Prof. Soedarto, S.H. Building. Undip Tembalang campus on Monday (18/12). The inbound students were released by Prof. Hanifa Maher Denny, S.KM., MPH., Ph.D. as Undip Academic, Student and Alumni Director.

In her speech, Prof Hanifa expressed her appreciation and thanks to the inbound students who had taken part in the PMM 3 program for 1 (one) semester. She advised inbound students to share valuable experiences with other friends. “The PMM program is not only to increase insight and learning experience but also to increase cultural knowledge and expand friendship networks,” said Prof. Hanifa’s mother. “So that PMM program students are not only ambassadors for their respective universities but also cultural ambassadors who further enrich the nation’s cultural diversity,” she added.

Meanwhile, in his report, Kadung Prayoga, S.P., M.Sc., representing the PMM 3 Undip Team, expressed his pride in the inbound students who completed the PMM 3 program for 1 (one) semester. “Like PMM’s motto, namely exchange temporarily, with meaning forever, it is hoped that this program will further strengthen friendship to unite to provide meaning and benefits for the progress of the country,” said Kadung.

The 2023 Independent Student Exchange Program (PMM 3) is a one-semester student mobility program to gain learning experience at universities in Indonesia while strengthening unity in diversity. There are 6 main elements of PMM 3, namely:

  1. Student exchange is carried out through cluster transfers between islands
  2. Recognition of learning outcomes up to 20 credits
  3. Allows exchange of state universities students to private universities and vice versa
  4. Students follow the program in semesters 3, 5, and 7 while the program is running
  5. Exploration of unity in diversity through the Nusantara Module
  6. Academic-to-academic and vocational-to-vocational exchange mechanisms

The PMM 3 program runs for 1 (one) semester, starting in August 2023 and ending in December 2023. The number of inbound participants is 50 (fifty) students from 27 universities throughout Indonesia. Inbound students are spread across 11 (eleven) Faculties at Undip, namely:

  1. Faculty of Law: 4 students
  2. Faculty of Economics and Business: 10 students
  3. Faculty of Engineering: 2 students
  4. Faculty of Medicine: 2 students
  5. Faculty of Animal and Agricultural Sciences: 1 student
  6. Faculty of Humanities: 1 student
  7. Faculty of Social and Political Sciences: 13 students
  8. Faculty of Science and Mathematics: 2 students
  9. Faculty of Public Health: 7 students
  10. Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences: 6 students
  11. Faculty of Psychology: 2 people

The inbound students returned to their respective universities on December 22, 2023. Meanwhile, there were 14 (fourteen) outbound students (from Undip) participating in the PMM 3 program spread across 10 (ten) universities in Sumatera, Kalimantan, Sulawesi and Papua. In accordance with the implementation schedule for the inbound student program, outbound students will return to Diponegoro University in December 2023.

The event to release the inbound students closed with a performance from the inbound students who performed dances and choirs that told about the cultural diversity of the Indonesian nation. (Ut-Public Relations)
