Elected Rector of Diponegoro University for the 2024-2029 period, Prof. Dr. Suharnomo, S.E., M.Si., was selected as one of the panelists for the Vice Presidential Debate by the General Election Commission (KPU). The vice presidential debate forum was held at the Jakarta Convention Center on Friday (22/12). Prior to the debate, Prof. Suharnomo and the panelist team had formulated question material for the plenary session on December 20-22, 2023.
The second debate theme is related to people’s economics, digital economy, finance, tax investment, trading, APBN/APBD management, infrastructure, and urban. The theme is in accordance with Prof. Suharnomo’s expertise, namely economics and human resource management.
The fifth sub-theme taken by Prof. Suharnomo, namely Infrastructure, contains questions regarding the candidate pair’s strategy to ensure the provision of social infrastructure without burdening regional finances. Meanwhile, on the one hand, in 5 years, infrastructure costs for national strategic projects amount to 2,385 trillion rupiah from the APBN. Meanwhile, on the other hand, social infrastructure, such as sanitation and clean water, is still a concern.
Getting to know him more closely, Prof. Suharnomo is the Dean of FEB (Faculty of Economics and Business) UNDIP, who was elected as Rector of Diponegoro University for the 2024-2029 period. He is a Professor in the field of Human Resources Management who was inaugurated on May 25, 2021. Prof. Suharnomo also still serves as Chair of the Semarang branch of the Association of Indonesian Economics Scholars (ISEI), Central Java Regional Coordinator for the period 2023-2026 and has held the position of Chair of the National Leadership Council of the Association of Economic Faculties and Business (AFEBI) in 2020-2022.
Prof. Suharnomo is also a member of the Honorary Council of the Independent Accreditation Institute for Management, Business and Accounting (Lamemba) and Chair of the FTA (Free Trade Agreement) Center Semarang. (Sudanta – Public Relations)
