Dr. Ar Resza Riskiyanto, S.T, M.T., IAI, lecturer at the Department of Architecture, Faculty of Engineering, Diponegoro University, was elected as chairman of the Indonesian Architects Association (IAI) Central Java for the 2023-2026 period. The 2023 IAI Provincial Forum event was held at Alam Indah Ballroom Semarang on Saturday (11/11).
Dr. Resza explained that two critical issues were raised, namely equality and usefulness. Collaboration is part of the spirit of IAI, and IAI has a responsibility to demonstrate its effectiveness as a professional organization to prospective members and its members.
“The programs that will be implemented include the first year focusing on strengthening assets and resources, both material and immaterial. The second year focuses on increasing competence and expertise, aimed specifically at new and old members in improving the quality of professional practice to be able to compete in the professional world. Furthermore, the third year focuses on professional development and architectural practice knowledge to demonstrate its benefits to the wider community,” he explained.
“Being chairman of IAI Central Java is not actually a goal to achieve fame, not to become a leader or big boss of an exclusive organization. Being chairman of the IAI means assuming responsibility and trust to foster, improve, protect and develop members of the Architectural profession by facilitating various architectural activities. Sincerity and serenity are the main capital for carrying out the vision and mission and programs in order to realize the mental and physical welfare of members of the profession and society in the Central Java region,” he concluded.
