As the culmination of the 95th Mother’s Day commemoration, Dharma Wanita Persatuan of Diponegoro University (DWP UNDIP) held a Capacity Building event with the theme “Healthy, Smart and Wise Mothers as Pillars of a Prosperous Family and Nation” with speakers Eko Suseno HRM, S.E., M.M. This event was held on January 10, 2024, at the 5th Floor Auditorium, Faculty of Engineering, Diponegoro University.
The Rector of Diponegoro University, Prof. Dr. Yos Johan Utama, SH, M.Hum., opened the event. In his speech, Prof. Yos conveyed the importance of the role of mothers who support the success of their husbands and children.
Remarks by Mrs. Asih Yos Johan Utama, Chairman of the Dharma Wanita Association of Diponegoro University followed the speech. “In the human body, most of it contains the element water. In every child’s development, there are 4 kinds of water from a mother that cannot be replaced, namely tears, amniotic fluid, breast milk, and mother’s sweat. Mother’s love and struggle remain along the way,” said Mrs. Asih.
The excitement of the event continued with the Rector of Diponegoro University, Prof. Dr. Yos Johan Utama, S.H., M.Hum. was shown when he sang 2 (two) songs he wrote. There was also the performance of several songs from the New Permata Suara Dharma Wanita Persatuan Choir, Diponegoro University.
In the Capacity Building session, Eko Suseno conveyed the importance of the mother’s role as a pillar of the family by establishing a harmonious relationship with children amidst the current news of child delinquency. On the other hand, the mother’s role in serving her husband is also essential in the household. Therefore, the speaker invited the participants who came to this event to improve communication within the family and take part in being a positive influence in the family.
The event continued with a question and answer session, the handover of plaques to guest speaker Eko Suseno, and the distribution of door prizes to event participants. (Joshua ed. Ut Humas)
