Prof. Dr. Jamari, S.T., M.T. stated that he was ready to lead and carry out his mandate as Dean of the Faculty of Engineering for the 2024-2029 period. This announcement was made at the official inauguration ceremony and taking the oath of office by the Undip Rector, Prof. Dr. Yos Johan Utama, S.H., M.Hum., Monday (15/1) at the Prof. Sudarto S.H. Building, Undip Tembalang Campus.
He replaced Prof. Ir. M. Agung Wibowo, M.M, M.Sc, Ph.D who has dedicated and contributed extraordinarily to the achievements of the Faculty of Engineering Undip to the point that he was selected as a State University work unit with the title of Corruption Free Regional Integrity Zone (ZI-WBK) in 2021 from the Ministry of Empowerment State Apparatus and Bureaucratic Reform (PANRB) while serving as Dean of the Faculty of Engineering with a term of service 2019-2024.
The inauguration was based on the Decree (SK) of the Rector of Diponegoro University Number: 32/UN7.A/KP/I/2024 to Number: 81/UN7.A/KP/I/2024 concerning the Dismissal and Appointment of Vice Rectors, Deans, Heads of Institutions, Heads of Departments, Heads and Secretaries of Study Programs, and Supervisors within Diponegoro University.
On the same occasion, Prof. Ir. M. Agung Wibowo, M.M, M.Sc, Ph.D., gave the 2019 – 2024 Final Memorandum Book to Prof. Dr. Jamari, S.T., M.T., as a form of handing over accountability. Henceforth, an official handover ceremony is scheduled for the Faculty of Engineering on Friday, January 19, 2024.
In his speech, the Undip Rector advised the newly appointed Dean to continue the achievements achieved during the previous leadership period. “For the newly appointed Deans and officials, let’s improve the achievements and accomplishments that previous officials have carried out. We have to work hand in hand for a better future,” said Prof. Yos.
Prof. Dr. Jamari, S.T., M.T. is a Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering with expertise in Tribology. Strategic positions he has held include Chair of the Department of Mechanical Engineering (2016-2017); Secretary of the Institute for Research and Community Service (LPPM) Undip (2017-2019) until he was trusted to serve as Chair of LPPM Undip for the 2019-2023 period.
The educational history achieved by Prof. Dr. Jamari, S.T., M.T. includes a Doctoral degree from Universiteit Twente, Netherlands (2006). Previously, he completed postgraduate education with a Master of Engineering (MT) degree at the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB) in 2001, and a Bachelor of Engineering (ST) degree also at the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB) in 1999. Until now, he still actively teaches in the Department of Mechanical Engineering, teaching several courses in the field of construction, including Mechanics of Strength of Materials, Contact Mechanics, and Tribology, and currently researching Bio-Tribology and Biomechanics which has produced quite a number of international publications.
