Faculty of Law at Diponegoro University has a new building named the Woerjanto, S.H. Building. This building was inaugurated on Friday, April 19, 2024, by Prof. Dr. Yos Johan Utama, S.H., M.Hum., the UNDIP Rector for the 2019-2024 period, just before the end of his term.
In his speech, Prof. Yos stated that Mr. Woerjanto was an Indonesian independence fighter who always instilled values of honesty and simplicity and taught customary law.
“May God always bestow blessings, guidance, and approval upon us to continue and further develop UNDIP for the benefit of the wider community,” said Prof. Yos.
On a separate occasion, the Dean of the Faculty of Law, Prof. Dr. Retno Saraswati, S.H., M.Hum., stated that the use of the name Woerjanto, S.H. is a form of respect for his services and dedication to the UNDIP Faculty of Law.
“Mr. Woerjanto, S.H. was a former Dean of the Faculty of Law and also served as the Mayor of Semarang. May his spirit, enthusiasm, and contributions be passed down to the future generations of UNDIP,” said Prof. Retno.
According to its function, the 2nd and 3rd floors of the Woerjanto, S.H. building will be used for archives rooms, while the 1st floor will be used for a cafeteria. It is hoped that this archives building will provide significant benefits to the Faculty of Law UNDIP. (LW ed. Ut-Public Relations)
