Sending Off the Prospective Hajj Pilgrims, UNDIP Rector: Focus and Positive Thinking

A total of 27 prospective hajj pilgrims from Diponegoro University will depart for the holy land this year. The farewell ceremony for these prospective pilgrims was held in the afternoon on Wednesday, May 15, 2024, at the Abdurrahman Mosque in the Widya Puraya Building at UNDIP.

In his report, the Vice Rector II of Diponegoro University, Prof. Dr.rer.nat. Heru Susanto, S.T., M.M., M.T., urged the prospective hajj pilgrims to focus on the worship they will be undertaking. “Do not worry about work here during the pilgrimage because there will certainly be a solution. We will communicate with the relevant units. The important thing is that you can worship calmly and devoutly,” explained Prof. Heru.

A representative of this year’s prospective hajj pilgrims, Prof. Dr. Adian Fatchur Rochim, S.T., M.T., expressed his gratitude and asked for blessings for the smooth conduct of their pilgrimage.

“On behalf of the hajj pilgrims, I would like to express our deepest gratitude to the Rector and the entire university community for organizing and supporting this event. We also apologize for any mistakes or oversights, whether intentional or unintentional. Additionally, we humbly ask for blessings from everyone. May Allah grant us blessings, health, guidance, patience, and lessons in all our affairs during the pilgrimage so that we may return home as mabrur hajj and continue our work at UNDIP,” said Prof. Adian, symbolizing the unity and support of the university community.

On behalf of the university, UNDIP Rector Prof. Dr. Suharnomo, S.E., M.Si., wished the pilgrims a safe journey and prayed for the smooth conduct of their pilgrimage. Prof. Suharnomo advised prospective hajj pilgrims always to think positively while in the holy land.

“Do not entertain negative thoughts while there. Focus on positive thinking. I believe in the power of prayer. There, prayers are truly efficacious. Hopefully, all of you will return safely and become UNDIP ambassadors who are different after the pilgrimage than before, whether in terms of righteousness, dedication, kindness and so on. May this pilgrimage be a turning point for us to become new individuals,” said Rector UNDIP. (Hng-Public Relations)
