The Rector of Diponegoro University (UNDIP), Prof. Dr. Suharnomo, S.E., M.Si., along with his team, received a visit from the ICE Institute team on Thursday (6/6/2024) in the Rector’s guest room at Widya Puraya Building, UNDIP Tembalang campus, to discuss the development of online courses from various partner universities of the ICE Institute.
The agenda for the audience with the ICE Institute covered several topics, including the governance of the ICE Institute, offering UNDIP courses on the ICE Institute platform and international platforms, and plans for developing the Micro-credential program at the ICE Institute. For information, the ICE Institute, Indonesia Cyber Education Institute, is an accredited center for online courses by the Ministry of Education and Culture.
This institution provides various online courses from many universities and online learning providers throughout Indonesia. The main goal of the ICE Institute is to facilitate the provision of quality education while ensuring the quality of online learning and distance education services. Through the ICE Institute, users can easily choose suitable online courses for career development in the Industry 4.0 era.
Diponegoro University’s participation in the ICE Institute platform began in early January 2020. The courses from Diponegoro University already available on the ICE Institute platform include Introduction to Python Programming, Government Communication, Oceanography Programming, Cross-Cultural Management, Holistic Nursing 1, Security Law, Utilization of Fishery Waste, and Japanese Computing.
During the meeting, the Rector of Diponegoro University expressed interest in the ICE Institute’s offers, especially the development of ICE Institute learning for the Chinese and international markets. Therefore, UNDIP will conduct a more in-depth review of the ICE Institute program in line with the Rector’s regulations on academics and curriculum, which are currently under review by study programs, faculties, and the university.
“After being reviewed by the technical team, UNDIP will soon provide courses to be added to the ICE Institute learning platform, especially for international classes. The hope is to increase the number of inbound students, citations, and international publications that support PTNBH IKU, namely developing and applying innovative research, providing solutions to societal, industrial, and national problems based on UNDIP’s characteristics, and international-standard publications,” said Prof. Suharnomo.
“With interesting courses, we aim to attract more inbound students for the MBKM program to study at UNDIP with convertible courses that support IKU 2,” he added.
Present at the meeting from the ICE Institute were Prof. Dr. Paulina Pannen, MLS (founder of ICE Institute), the Director of the ICE Institute, the Partnership and Certification Manager of the ICE Institute, and the IT Manager of the ICE Institute. (Ut-Public Relations)
