Semarang, Central Java. Diponegoro University (UNDIP) signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Indonesian Institute of Arts and Culture (ISBI) Aceh on Friday morning (June 14, 2024). The signing ceremony took place in the Rector’s Meeting Room, 2nd Floor of the Widya Puraya Building, UNDIP Tembalang Campus.

The Memorandum of Understanding for cooperation in the activities of the Tri Dharma of Higher Education, which include education, research, and community service, as well as other fields, was signed by UNDIP Rector Prof. Dr. Suharnomo, S.E., M.Si., and ISBI Rector Prof. Dr. Wildan, M.Pd. The cooperation between UNDIP and ISBI Aceh will last for four (4) years from the date of signing.

The Chair of the Academic Senate, the Vice Chair of the Board of Trustees, the Vice Rector for Resources, and the Deans of Faculties/Schools witnessed the signing event from the UNDIP leaders. From ISBI Aceh, the Rector was accompanied by the Vice Rector for Planning, Finance, and General Affairs, as well as several educational staff members.

ISBI Aceh Rector Prof. Wildan welcomed the cooperation with UNDIP. The Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology is currently encouraging ISBI Aceh and several other state universities to transform from government work units (Satuan Kerja / Satker) to Public Service Agencies (Badan Layanan Umum / BLU). As part of this cooperation, UNDIP will assist and provide guidance to ISBI Aceh in preparing the necessary documents for this transformation.

“We are pleased to partner with UNDIP to jointly implement the Tri Dharma of Higher Education. We also need UNDIP’s assistance to ensure the smooth transformation of ISBI from Satker to BLU,” said Prof. Wildan after signing the Memorandum of Understanding.

Similarly, UNDIP is open to establishing cooperation with ISBI. According to the UNDIP Rector, the progress of higher education institutions depends on good relationships with alumni and other institutions, including universities.

“The progress of higher education institutions depends on good cooperation with many parties. We are open to collaboration with ISBI Aceh and are ready to collaborate further. Hopefully, ISBI Aceh will develop well,” said Prof. Suharnomo.

The initial collaboration between UNDIP and ISBI Aceh will involve workshops on preparing self-evaluation documents and minimum service standards, which will assist ISBI Aceh in transforming from a government work unit to a Public Service Agency.

ISBI Aceh was established on October 6, 2014, and is one of nine state universities in the field of arts and culture in Indonesia. The ISBI campus is located in Jantho Makmur, Jantho District, Aceh Besar Regency, Aceh Province. Currently, ISBI Aceh has 2 Departments and 6 Study Programs. (UNDIP’s Public Relations Team)
