The Indonesian Youth Excursion Network (IYEN) is an international youth program that organizes Youth Excursions in Malaysia. This program is specifically designed for young people who want to broaden their horizons through learning experiences abroad. It offers participants the opportunity to understand the culture, history, and daily life in another country while gaining new knowledge and building social networks with other participants. During the program, IYEN visits historical sites, educational institutions, and famous tourist spots and meets with locals to gain direct insights into life in Malaysia. The program may also include training activities, discussions, and workshops facilitated by experts or youth leaders to enhance leadership skills, teamwork, or other practical skills for the participants. IYEN provides delegates with valuable experiences without requiring too much time, making it suitable for young people with time constraints. Additionally, through this program, IYEN implements various sustainable programs and creative concepts, including conferences, student exchanges, and creativity camps.
The goals of the activities are to encourage interdisciplinary collaboration, build professional networks, stimulate the development of research and innovation at the global level, foster the development of leadership, teamwork, and communication skills through human diversity, and cultivate tolerance and appreciation for differences. The program empowers young people with relevant knowledge and skills, preparing them to become competitive leaders at the national and international levels. This activity is organized by the Indonesian Youth Excursion Network (IYEN). “On this occasion, I participated in the Indonesian Youth Excursion Network #4 Chapter Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, from June 25 – 28, 2024. In IYEN 4, the number of participants reached 54, including students, school pupils, and even working professionals,” said Inani, a participant from UNDIP, majoring in Physics at the Faculty of Science and Mathematics. At this international event, Inani won the 2nd Best Presentation and also became a delegate for IYEN 4. “I am always grateful for the victory I achieved. Thank you to everyone who has supported me in reaching this point,” she said. “Especially to my parents who always pray and support me, the Faculty of Science and Mathematics with all their support, especially UNDIP, which always makes me confident, the Physics Department, which always supports, and friends who always encourage,” she added.
