UNDIP Prepares Draft Strategic Plan for 2025-2029

The Planning and Development Agency (Badan Perencanaan dan Pengembangan / BPP) of Diponegoro University (UNDIP) held a Socialization Event for the Draft Strategic Plan of Diponegoro University for 2025-2029 at the Grand Candi Hotel, Semarang, on August 14, 2024. The Rector, Vice Rectors, Chair of the Academic Senate, Vice Chair of the Board of Trustees, Head of BPP, and the Deans of Faculties and Schools within UNDIP attended the event.

The socialization of the Draft Strategic Plan for 2025-2029 is crucial as the Strategic Plan for 2020-2024 is entering its final year. The 2025-2029 draft will also serve as the foundation for preparing annual work plans and budgets starting in 2025. The years 2025-2029 will be pivotal for UNDIP as it enters the phase of maturing into a World-Class University (WCU).

In his address, UNDIP Rector Prof. Dr. Suharnomo, S.E., M.Si. emphasized each faculty member’s unique strengths and reminded everyone of the university’s role in preparing students for the workforce.

“Each faculty has its strengths, and they are not to be compared. Hopefully, these strengths will be reflected in the targets we set,” said Prof. Suharnomo.

During the socialization, the Vice Rectors presented drafts of the targets to be achieved in their respective areas. Additionally, guidance on strengthening academic fields and general policies supporting UNDIP during the WCU Maturation Phase of 2025-2029 was provided by the Chair of the Academic Senate, Prof. Ir. Edy Rianto, M.Sc., Ph.D., IPU., and the Secretary of the Board of Trustees, Dr. Ir. Agus Indarjo, M.Phil.

Toward the end of the event, the Head of BPP UNDIP, Prof. Dr. Ir. Purwanto, DEA, presented the Draft Strategic Plan of Diponegoro University for 2025. Following the presentation, each Dean of the faculties and schools, as well as the heads of various institutions, provided suggestions and input to refine the draft plan that is being developed.
