UNDIP, Semarang – The series of events marking the opening of Universitas Diponegoro’s 67th Anniversary, held at the Muladi Dome, UNDIP Campus Tembalang, also served as a moment for UNDIP to take concrete steps in supporting efforts to prevent corruption within the university. This commitment was demonstrated on Friday (11/10) through a collective signing to control gratification, carried out by the Rector, Chair of the Academic Senate, Chair of the Board of Trustees, and all Deans of Faculty/School at UNDIP.
The commitment to controlling gratification is part of the Program for Strengthening Integrity in Public Universities (Program Penguatan Integritas Ekosistem Perguruan Tinggi Negeri / PIEPTN). The signing aims to manage gratification acceptance transparently and accountably through a series of activities involving the active participation of UNDIP’s academic community to create a gratification control environment.
Diponegoro University Rector, Prof. Dr. Suharnomo, S.E., M.Si., during a press conference, stated that UNDIP, together with the Indonesian Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK), is part of a group of six selected universities this year, including UNDIP, UNAIR, UNHAS, and others, to collaborate on anti-corruption campaigns and handling gratification. “We are committed because this is part of doing good and reflects good university governance. UNDIP fully supports this with coordination and guidance from the KPK,” said Prof. Suharnomo.
He added that UNDIP supports the anti-corruption and gratification control commitments and conducts outreach from top to bottom leadership levels. “Hopefully, with this commitment, UNDIP can implement the anti-corruption and anti-gratification agenda and serve as an example, but most importantly, it must be properly implemented on our campus,” he hoped.
“The commitment to controlling gratification is actually a fulfillment of the oath of office not to receive or promise anything related to the position. I think normative things like these are then implemented in more technical ways to eradicate corruption and achieve good university governance,” explained the UNDIP Rector.
