Ranking Increases Rapidly in the Last 5 Years: UNDIP Receives Awards on the World Stage

At the QS Higher Ed Summit: Asia Pacific 2024 held at Macau University of Science and Technology on November 7, 2024, Universitas Diponegoro (UNDIP) received an award in the Performance Improvement category. On this occasion, UNDIP stood alongside prestigious universities such as NTU and NUS from Singapore, which were recognized in other categories.

The award was presented by Jessica Turner, CEO of QS Quacquarelli Symonds, to UNDIP Vice Rector IV, Wijayanto, Ph.D., in front of participants from various parts of the world.

In this award category, UNDIP demonstrated the most rapid and consistent ranking improvement over the past five years, moving from #241 in 2021 to #134 in the QS World University Rankings: Asia 2025. Meanwhile, in the QS South Eastern Asia University Rankings 2025, UNDIP was ranked 31st among the best universities in Southeast Asia.

Upon hearing this exciting news, the Rector of Universitas Diponegoro, Prof. Dr. Suharnomo, S.E., M.Si., expressed his gratitude to the faculty, staff, students, and all parties who contributed to this achievement. The ranking results represent the collective efforts of the entire Universitas Diponegoro community, including contributions from alumni.

“This international recognition motivates us to continue making improvements and enhancing academic quality, graduate outcomes, publications, and research collaboration with international researchers as part of UNDIP’s vision to become an excellent research university and to achieve its goal of being a World-Class University. UNDIP will continue to support efforts aimed at improving its reputation globally, in Asia, and Southeast Asia,” said Prof. Suharnomo.

Meanwhile, Vice Rector IV, Wijayanto, Ph.D., expressed his joy over UNDIP’s hard work over the past five years. “We are proud to receive an award on the world stage alongside major universities like NTU and NUS. “Hopefully, this milestone will further enhance UNDIP’s visibility on the global stage and help improve the university’s rankings in the future,” he stated.

Quacquarelli Symonds World University Rankings (QS WUR) is an institution that ranks higher education institutions globally. In the QS World University Rankings 2025: Top Global Universities, 1,500 institutions from 105 countries were evaluated. (Ut-media relations)
