Semarang (November 18, 2024) – The culmination of FISIP Fest 2024 marked a special moment for the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP) at Universitas Diponegoro (UNDIP) to strengthen collaboration between academics and alumni. One of the main events, the inauguration of a Co-Working Space, highlighted the tangible contributions of alumni through the FISIP UNDIP Alumni Association (IKA) in creating innovative facilities to support student creativity. This facility is expected to symbolize the synergy between alumni and their alma mater in advancing UNDIP’s vision as a respectable and impactful university.
The highlight of the event, held on Sunday, November 17, 2024, at the FISIP UNDIP Tembalang campus and the Multipurpose Building Muladi Dome, was enlivened by the Grand Reunion of IKA FISIP UNDIP and a Fun Walk. Attending the event were UNDIP Rector, Prof. Dr. Suharnomo, S.E., M.Si., IKA FISIP UNDIP Chairman, Drs. Masrokhan, MAP, CGCAE, and FISIP UNDIP alumni from various generations.
In his opening remarks, the Dean of FISIP UNDIP, Dr. Drs. Teguh Yuwono, M.Pol.Admin., expressed his appreciation for the extraordinary contributions of alumni in supporting campus development. He explained that the co-working space to be built between Buildings A and B would be non-permanent, thus preserving green open spaces. Additionally, he highlighted FISIP’s commitment to being a disability-friendly campus by ensuring inter-building accessibility for all students.
IKA FISIP UNDIP Chairman, Drs. Masrokhan, MAP, CGCAE handed the symbolic inauguration of the co-working space over to the UNDIP Rector. In his remarks, Masrokhan expressed his hope that the facility would become a hub for student creativity and innovation. “Hopefully, this co-working space will enhance motivation, creativity, and enthusiasm among students, providing a collaborative and innovative atmosphere,” he stated. Previously, IKA FISIP UNDIP had also contributed five gazebos as additional co-working spaces for students.
UNDIP Rector, Prof. Dr. Suharnomo, S.E., M.Si., in his speech, praised FISIP’s facilities, even calling it the faculty with the best facilities at UNDIP. “Of all the facilities available, I believe FISIP is the best at UNDIP,” he said. Prof. Suharnomo also congratulated FISIP UNDIP for its achievement of being ranked among the top 500 universities globally, according to the QS World University Rankings.
Following the co-working space inauguration, the event continued with a Fun Walk involving alumni, lecturers, educational staff, and FISIP UNDIP students. The route started from the FISIP UNDIP campus and ended at the Multipurpose Building Muladi Dome.
Prior to this main event, the FISIP Fest 2024 series had organized various exciting activities, including a talk show titled “Rosi on Location: Moving and Starting from Campus,” in collaboration with Kompas TV, and a Music Festival featuring renowned artists such as Hivi, Yovie & Nuno, and Happy Asmara.
With the spirit of collaboration between alumni and the Faculty, FISIP Fest 2024 served as a strategic momentum to strengthen synergy, creativity, and innovation at FISIP UNDIP.
