Semarang, Jawa Tengah – Dharma Wanita Persatuan of Universitas Diponegoro (DWP UNDIP) hosted an engaging talk show titled “Maintaining Physical and Mental Health for Women as Mothers and Wives Active in Organization,” featuring renowned speaker and motivator Dr. Agus Ali Fauzi, PGD.Pall.Med (ECU), a palliative care specialist from RSUD dr Soetomo. This inspiring event took place on Saturday, December 21, 2024, in the 3rd-floor auditorium of the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP) at UNDIP. It served as the highlight of a series of activities commemorating National Mother’s Day 2024, marking its 96th anniversary under the theme “Women Connecting, Empowered Women Towards Golden Indonesia 204”, to honor women’s contributions to the nation’s progress.
The event was lively, attended by the Rector as the Advisor to DWP UNDIP, deans of faculty, DWP UNDIP administrators and members, and other guests. Supporting partners, including BNI and BTN banks, also participated in the event.
In his remarks, Rector Prof. Dr. Suharnomo, S.E., M.Si., expressed his appreciation for the event, highlighting the significant benefits of DWP UNDIP, particularly for children’s education and family welfare. “Despite their many activities, mothers are happy to gather and socialize. Through active involvement in organizations, members can share insights, knowledge, and other positive elements to bring back to their families,” said Prof. Suharnomo.
He emphasized that a happy family stems from a happy wife or mother—one who is physically and mentally healthy. Effective communication is a hallmark of a healthy family, fostering motivation for the husband’s work. A supportive family and work environment act as catalysts for enhanced job performance, driving UNDIP’s continuous achievements.
UNDIP’ss increasing awards are evident in our current achievements. In the UI GreenMetric rankings, UNDIP has maintained the second position in Indonesia for five consecutive years and ranks fourth in Asia. In 2024, UNDIP also received the Satria Brand Award (SBA) from Suara Merdeka for its environmental initiatives, including desalination machines, ozone technology for pesticide cleaning, portable toilets, stunting prevention efforts, and other innovations,” Prof. Suharnomo remarked. These prestigious recognitions reinforce UNDIP’s status as a leading environmentally conscious university in Indonesia.
UNDIP also ranked third in Indonesia in the 2024 Scimago Institutions Rankings (SIR), reflecting its commitment to enhancing research quality, innovation, and social impact. Additionally, it secured the fourth position among Indonesian universities in the global 4ICU UniRank rankings based on institutional web popularity.
DWP UNDIP Chairwoman Dewi Widayani Suharnomo extended her gratitude and Mother’s Day wishes to all attendees. She emphasized the vital roles women play across various sectors, including education, politics, economics, and culture. Dewi highlighted that many women excel both in their careers and in managing their households, attributing this success partly to their active participation in organizations like DWP, which fosters collaboration and inspiration.
Currently, DWP UNDIP has over 1,000 members, with 576 actively involved at the university and implementing levels. “Be women of the nation who spread kindness and positivity, aligning with UNDIP’s tagline Dignified UNDIP, Beneficial UNDIP (UNDIP Bermartabat, UNDIP Bermanfaat),” urged Dewi.
The event was even more exciting and lively, and a well-known resource person and motivator fueled it, dr. Agus Ali Fauzi, PGD.Pall.Med (ECU), a palliative expert at RSUD dr Soetomo. In the talk show hosted by Yetti Yan Wisnu, the topic was “Maintaining Women’s Physical and Mental Health as Mothers and Wives Who Are Active in Organizations .”In his presentation, dr. Agus shared tips on how to maintain physical and mental health. It was stated that the characteristics of a healthy person include physical health, namely, support by exercise and sufficient and balanced nutrition. Then, psychologically, it is marked by always thinking positively and always being grateful and sharing. Furthermore, from a spiritual perspective, it is shown by being more diligent in worship and constantly feeling loved by God (Allah SWT). Meanwhile, from a social perspective, a healthy person is someone who is active and enjoys organizing/socializing.
dr. Agus concluded by outlining the keys to maintaining health: attitude, direction, communication, excellence, and the development of skills and knowledge.
