Starting 2025 with the Inauguration of 36 Professors, UNDIP Takes A Concrete Step to Become a World-Class University

Semarang (January 18, 2025) – At the beginning of 2025, Universitas Diponegoro (UNDIP) achieved another remarkable milestone by inaugurating 36 Professors. They have become a key part of UNDIP’s success as an educational institution, dedicating their knowledge and expertise to society.

The inauguration of these 36 Professors will take place in two stages, with the first phase scheduled for January 20–24, 2025, and the second phase set for February 18–20, 2025. The ceremony will be held at the Prof. Soedarto Building, UNDIP Tembalang Campus, Semarang, Jawa Tengah.

These 36 Professors originated from various faculties at Universitas Diponegoro, with details as follows: 15 Professors from the Faculty of Engineering; 7 Professors from the Faculty of Science and Mathematics; 5 Professors from the Faculty of Animal and Agricultural Sciences; 3 Professors from the Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences; 2 Professors from the Faculty of Public Health; and one Professor each from the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, the Faculty of Economics and Business, the Faculty of Medicine, and the Faculty of Humanities. Each Professor brings expertise from their respective disciplines, contributing to the university’s academic diversity.

The Rector of UNDIP, Prof. Dr. Suharnomo, S.E., M.Si, expressed his pride and emphasized that this achievement reflects the hard work and dedication of UNDIP’s Professors. The Professors have contributed a wide range of academic knowledge, demonstrating that UNDIP is a higher education institution rich in scientific perspectives that can have a tangible impact on society.

“The achievement of 36 Professors at UNDIP reflects the strength and rapid advancement of science at Universitas Diponegoro. At present and in the future, they have a strategic role in guiding the direction of scientific knowledge at UNDIP and making tangible contributions to society through research, innovation, and service. I hope this achievement serves as an inspiration for the next academic generation,” said Prof. Suharnomo.

The expertise and innovations produced by the Professors are expected to drive UNDIP forward as a university that excels academically, adapts to the dynamics of the times, and makes a tangible impact on society. This achievement serves as motivation to strengthen cross-disciplinary synergy, enabling UNDIP to face future global challenges with innovative and sustainable solutions.

With the contributions of these Professors, Universitas Diponegoro further strengthens its position in the World Class University (WCU) program. The diverse fields of expertise possessed by these Professors are crucial assets in promoting UNDIP to compete at the international level, not only as a center of education and research but also as an institution that delivers tangible benefits to the global community.
