UNDIP, Semarang (February 7) – Suhadi Adit Prastowo, an undergraduate student of Indonesian Literature, officially earned his bachelor’s degree with cum laude honors, achieving a GPA of 3.72 during the 177th Graduation Ceremony of Universitas Diponegoro (Tuesday, February 4, 2025). Graduating from the Faculty of Humanities at Universitas Diponegoro, Suhadi, proves that academic excellence and organizational experience are equally important in shaping the future.
Accepted into UNDIP through the Seleksi Bibit Unggul Berprestasi (SBUB) / Selection of Outstanding Students in 2020, Suhadi was not only dedicated to his studies but also actively engaged in various organizations and internship programs. “Besides attending lectures, I was also involved in both on-campus and off-campus organizations. Additionally, I participated in several internships, both independently and through the MSIB Kampus Merdeka program,” he explained.
During his time in the Indonesian Literature program, Suhadi gained knowledge beyond just grammar. His skills expanded into copywriting, broadcasting, rhetoric, public relations, and semiotics, all of which are valuable assets in the creative industry.
Beyond academics, Suhadi also demonstrated his abilities by winning numerous national-level competitions, including:
- 1st Place in the Short Documentary Film Competition – “Mozaik Budaya: Harmony in Language, Arts, and Culture 2024,” Faculty of Humanities, Universitas Brawijaya.
- 2nd Place in the Essay and Short Documentary Video Competition (Local/Traditional Knowledge Category) 2023, CTSS IPB.
- 2nd Place in the Economics Video Competition (EVIC) 2023, Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Kristen Satya Wacana (UKSW).
- 1st Place in the Poster & Video Competition –“Kebijakan Satu Peta” 2022, Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs, Republic of Indonesia.
- 1st Place in the Creative Video Competition – Manifestation of Youth Creativity Through Various Works 2021, HMJPE UNNES.
- 1st National Place in the Carousel and Short Film Competition for Dies Natalis 2021, Faculty of Psychology, Unika Soegijapranata.
- 1st National Place in the Short Video Competition at EDUCATION FESTIVAL 2021, Universitas Slamet Riyadi Surakarta.
- 1st Place in the NU Online & BRGM RI Short Film Competition 2021, Short Documentary Film Category.
- 1st Place in the Creative Video Competition for National Development 2020, Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM).
- 1st National Place in the Short Film Competition at Creanomic 2020, Universitas Brawijaya.
Suhadi attributes his success in various competitions to team collaboration and his strong personal principles. “In every competition, I always keep an open mind for discussions with my team to produce the best possible output. Winning is not the only goal for me; what matters is creating meaningful and impactful works,” he stated.
Currently working as a freelancer, Suhadi is preparing to secure a permanent job. He emphasizes that youth is the best time to learn and contribute.
“People often ask, which is more important—GPA or experience? Without hesitation, I say ‘both.’ Education provides knowledge, while organizations offer experience. Being young is the perfect time to learn and make an impact. It’s not just about being smart; it’s about being impactful, too,” said Suhadi.
With his outstanding academic achievements and extensive experience, Suhadi serves as an example that success in the professional world is not just about grades but also about continuous skill development and hands-on experience. (Marta, ed. DHW)
