Faculty of Medicine UNDIP and Kesdam IV/Diponegoro Hold Health Check-ups and Mass Treatment for Flood Victims in Kendal Regency

UNDIP, Semarang (February 4) – The Faculty of Medicine of Universitas Diponegoro demonstrated its commitment to community service by organizing a mass medical treatment event for residents affected by flooding in Kendal Regency. This initiative was the response of the Faculty of Medicine UNDIP to local community requests for assistance and was carried out in collaboration with Kesdam IV/Diponegoro.

Zarkasi, the Head of Lanjir Village, stated that the floods affecting several areas in Kendal had led to various health issues. As a form of concern for this situation, the Faculty of Medicine UNDIP deployed a medical team consisting of doctors, nurses, and pharmaceutical staff to provide free healthcare services for the affected residents.

The Dean and Vice Dean of Academic Affairs and Student Affairs at the Faculty of Medicine UNDIP emphasized that this initiative is part of the Tri Dharma of higher education—particularly its commitment to community service. Beyond healthcare services, the event also fostered collaboration between the Faculty of Medicine UNDIP and various stakeholders, especially Kesdam IV/Diponegoro, which played a crucial role in organizing the mass treatment effort. This synergy between academics, medical professionals, and military institutions is expected to create a broader positive impact on society.

The mass treatment event also received strong support from Kesdam IV/Diponegoro, represented by dr. Andi, the Deputy Chief of Kesdam IV. He highlighted the importance of cooperation among educational institutions, healthcare professionals, and the military in emergencies to ensure a more effective and comprehensive response for disaster-affected communities. The success of this initiative is expected not only to provide immediate relief but also to strengthen partnerships among various organizations in humanitarian missions.
