UNDIP Ranks Among Top 10 National Universities in UNS Jawametrik 2025

UNDIP, Semarang (June 3, 2025) – Universitas Diponegoro (UNDIP) has once again achieved a proud milestone by being named one of the top 10 universities in Indonesia in the 2025 UNS Jawametrik ranking. The award was presented directly by the Minister of Culture of the Republic of Indonesia, Dr. Fadli Zon, S.S., M.Sc., during the UNS Jawametrik Awarding Ceremony, held Tuesday evening, June 3, 2025, at the R. Ng. Yosodipuro Hall, PUI Javanologi, Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS), Surakarta.

This ranking is part of the biennial UNS Jawametrik program, which honors higher education institutions and cultural organizations worldwide that actively contribute to the development and preservation of Javanese culture.

UNDIP’s inclusion in the Top 10 is a testament to the university’s commitment to integrating Javanese cultural values into its three pillars (Tri Dharma) of higher education: teaching, research, and community service. In recent years, UNDIP has actively launched various initiatives, including research programs, digital archiving, cultural festivals, and community empowerment projects aimed at preserving Javanese culture.

Representing UNDIP’s Rector, Prof. Dr. Suharnomo, SE, M.Si., the Director of Innovation, Downstream Development, and Collaboration, drh. Dian Wahyu Harjanti, Ph.D., expressed her appreciation for the recognition. “This award from UNS Jawametrik affirms that UNDIP’s efforts to nurture local cultural values, particularly Javanese culture, are being recognized at the national level. This effort aligns with our mission of ‘Noble and Valuable UNDIP,’ where our presence in society contributes not only to academic excellence but also to the preservation of cultural heritage,” she said.

The 2025 UNS Jawametrik program included a rigorous, data-driven selection process, ranging from institutional documentation and verification of cultural activities to an assessment of each institution’s contribution to Javanese cultural development. From 164 institutions across five continents, 10 were selected as top domestic universities and 10 as top international institutions.

Alongside UNDIP, the other nine domestic universities named in the list are Universitas Sebelas Maret, Universitas Negeri Surabaya, Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta, Institut Seni Indonesia Yogyakarta, Universitas Negeri Semarang, Universitas Indonesia, Institut Seni Indonesia Surakarta, Universitas Gadjah Mada, and Universitas PGRI Semarang.

This achievement further solidifies UNDIP’s position as a university that excels not only academically but also in its commitment to preserving local cultural values as part of the nation’s identity. (Public Communication/UNDIP)
